i have friend who broke up with someone but has trouble moving on. It has been 4 months since break-up and she can't stop thinking about him (she is 16 yrs old) and keeps thinking its her fault ( it wasn't). My only advice was to go with out someone else and they will treat her better and she will forget assuming she gave time but someone asked her out and it has been only 2 days and she worries it won't go well cause of feeling toward the ex (she tries to ignore new bf) so yea my advice won't work. The boy she went with was a very nice, caring person but later changed to a druggy, show-off, idiot (i know b/c he and i were friends until i became a friend an enemy of his which i never knew until later). What can i do or say to her to help her move cause she is doing poorly in life which i'm starting to worry and going out back with him is not an option (he already moved, likes a girl, and all his friends hate her)?

U friend needs 2 move on. It's been 4 months if he already move on why she can do it. She need to go out with friend, have fun, date other guys is all part of live. Probably he was her first boyfriend and she was so used to be with him than now she doesn't know what to do. She don't need him in her life, she will find someone that loves her like she deserve. Tell her that she's only 16 years old in she will meet a lot of guys she don't need to be obsessive with one guy that don't care about her. Just take her out, and have some fun with her she will forget about him soon or later is all about time.

If it has been 4 months since she broke up with him and she still can't stop thinking about him, my best advice is for her to go talk to someone about it like a counselor.

It seems as if you are already doing as much as you can to try to help her but this is something she is going to need to deal with on her own. It's great that you are trying to be there for her, but she needs to get some outside help.
