The Bible in it's generic for is pretty useless except for one thing:
The book was used to hide the Kabbalah. That's an embeded message that's encoded into it. The code was cracked around 100 A.D. and revealed by Rabbi De Leon of Spain in the Twelve hundreds.
It's actually very insightful. Wonderful reading. Many theories as to why the code. I think it was necessary to avoid some kind of early religious persecution. Also it proves that the generic form of the book is just Wrapping Paper.
Try the Zohar (central book) for starters. Fascinating book.
