GOOD ink is great. And to all the people that are whining about "when we get older" we'll look gross....so you think un-tattooed 60 year old skin looks great? Really? Either way it's going to be wrinkly. So what if I want wrinkly decorated skin?
You only live once guys.

I really do not believe that you will obtain a correct answer on this question because honestly it all depends on the person and the art itself.
Personally, I do not feel tattoos are bad, I believe what makes a tattoo bad is poor judgment on the tattoo itself by just "jumping in" with a random artist or a random design on a spur of the moment or because so and so did it type of quest. Those tattoos will more than likely turn bad in someones eyes over time.
I see tattoos as a form of art that can serve as memories of things which have personal meaning to that person. If you choose the proper placement and you take time to think about what you are doing and why you are doing it then a tattoo will be the best lifetime investment you can make.
There are those that stereo-type tattoos and to that I simply say "mind your business", if a person feels a tattoo is wrong then that is totally up to them with their own personal judgment...however I don't feel that any one person has a right to judge another.
So I would have to say for me I feel tattoo's are definitely good, but again think, think, think before acting!! :)

Good.
Obviously, there are a lot of tattoos knocking about that are awful, and have ruined their wearer because of how rediculous they look.
However, i am a strong believer that if it has a meaning to the person wearing it, a tattoo is a special, personal thing, and no one else should be allowed to knock it without knowing the story.
I personally don't have any tattoos yet, but i have drawings scattered around and have 3 or 4 in the pipeline at the moment. I have been drawing, designing and refining them for a long time, and can't wait until i finally have them. Also, as i've put so much thought into them, and i know what i want, where and why, i am absolutely certain that i will not regret having them when i do get older.

Tattoos are neutral. Every tattoo is personal so what looks good on one can look totally trashy or unsuited on the next. This is a good example of the "tramp stamp" tattoo. It's just a catchy name. If a girl is a tramp she will be a tramp even without the tattoo. They aren't good or bad in either respect. I love them when they suite the person and have meaning not 'just because it was cool' or your friend was doing it. When I got mine I went with my best friend and she got one also but ... they aren't the same. We each wanted something different but went together. For me the experience was amazing because I've known her for 8 years and it's one more thing to share as a memory together. If you want one and can within the bounds of the law (the law is there for safety- go to a shop and get it done legally, no scratchers or under age tattooing) go for it. Make it your own, take your time. Good luck and happy tattooing!

Not me but a friend of mine got a tattoo in honor of another friend that died. It was designed after a bottle of Tennessee Whiskey but had his name where the logo was. The design was great but when all was said and done the writing was almost unreadable because the details were too close together. In the end she had to black out the entire thing into a tribal symbol which is a shame because the symbol is sooooo freaking huge and while it's a kinda cool symbol it's still a huge black mark on her arm. Like, or five inches across and six or seven inches top to bottom.

yeah, i think they're good. as long as they have meaning.
i dont like tattoos from the little tattoo catalogs at the shops, where you just go in and look and decide, "oh, i think i'll have this flower on my body forever because its pretty."
tattoos have been around a very long time, and now i think its kind of too bad how mainstream they have become. but whatever. i think if a tattoo is done well, it can stay pretty for the rest of your life and will keep it's meaning.

Tattoos depend on a number of things
1. The person with the tattoo and what it means to them
2. The size of the tattoo
3. The position of the tattoo
4. What the tattoo actually is of
Overall, I like them, but they can give you the impression that someone is rough or whatever if done on the arms sometimes, but that's just a bad stereotyping

In general overall I would say tattoos are good. They allow people to express themselves and decorate their bodies as they want. Tattoos are good for people who like tattoos, but keep in mind not everyone likes tattoos.

I like my tattoo. It's a black star (the outline). It's small. I love it cos it's so simple and pure. I'm not a fan of large colourful and messy tattoos. So tattoos are cool, but some are ugly : )

I got mine on my eighteeth birthday. And I plan on getting at least 4 more. I must admit its addictive. If your into the whole originality idea go ahead. I suggest for you to get one thats meaningful to you only. Something that is going to be worth the pain! If your sensitive to pain, then maybe its not for you. Dont get a boyfriends name or anything because men come and go. Professionally it is best to hide them, or make sure they are in places people cant see. Tattoos look raw as hell! They can be sexy, mysterious, deep, soulful and original depending on the design and location on your body. Good luck =]
