and was speaking of a mothers protection of her young. Mentioned to him that if there were no jobs, and my kids were starving i would choose the last resort and sell my body to put food on the table to feed my kids (was setting the situation of after a war or something).....he was horrified........what would you do........
remember the last resort and there was no means of money from anywhere else to buy food.

I think your motherly instinct would kick in and anything would go.......

I would do absolutely anything to make sure my daughter was fed, I'd cut off my own bloody arm and cook that if necessary!

lol

No I am serious! Mind you we would live like kings if I chose to cut off my leg with my chunky thinghs!!!!

I agree with you. If there was no other way I would do whatever it took to take care of my children. As my husband I can see where he of course wouldn't want to happen, but I think he had better be ready to do the unthinkable himself.
During the great depression things of this nature was a norm. Without a lot more people would have died. There was also a huge spike in crime. Mobs were at their peak. If he couldn't understand that, then he would have to go and make room for a man who did or made enough money that we didn't have to starve.

There are strippers and hookers who are doing that even now. I agree that the kids are the important thing and you have to do what you can to protect them. I'm surprised that he was horrified. When I say that it would be nice to be able to afford--fill in the blank, my husband will joke that I better get out on the corner and start earning some money, then. Talking about it and doing it are two very different things!

That were the only thing; meaning as you said the very last resort that I could do to keep my babies alive all I have to say is move over lady! We're sharing that street corner! I see exactly what you mean; it is not an easy call and no one should be judging; you have to do what you have to do. Good thing that we don't have to resort to something like that.

who would sit and watch their child starve? no one i dont think. while its not an ideal "job" since u said its a last resort then theres nothing else u can do. men and womenthink differently, he was just focusing on the selling yourself part trust me thats all he heard!! as a mom u hear child in dire need and u go to the ends of the earth. tell him its unlikely 2 happen u were just saying that if need b it would be done!

Boy that's a hard one. I guess I would have to say
that if I could not live off the land, like I have been taught
I know how to skin a Deer, fish I can eat pretty
much any wild game. If there was no wild thing to
skin and eat, then and only then would I resort to
selling my body I can understand your man's
concern. Good Luck

I would do anything to feed and take care of my children, nothing is below me, my mother in law, who is wealthy only because of her husband, looks down on mothers who work at Mc Donalds and such, she says they should be at home with their children and their husbands should be working somewhere great. My opinion...at least they are working. If there was nothing else to do, I would sell my body if I had to feed my children. I am lucky and will most likley never have to do that, there is a big difference between prostitution and stripping out of need and because you like the attention, you choose to for other reasons or you do it for drugs and alchohol. I agree with you.

just ask your husband if he remembers the story where the car broke down and the women breast feed her 7 year old and 4 month old for i think 7 days as a mother you would do any if it your last resort.

If there was no other way then yes, I suppose I would. Not pleasant, but far better than watching my daughter slowly starve.

If (god forbid) it came to having to watch your child die through starvation or anything else, I think a parent would do whatever it takes. Parental love is so strong that if it meant hurting yourself, you'd do it. I would anyway.

Totally agree with you. Kids come first and parents come last. If that is what i had to do to put food on the table then so be it.
