Yes, like april_s said, find out if you are in a state that you can get birth control without parental permission.
But more importantly ... birth control does not protect you from Sexually Transmitted Diseases ... for that you have to do two things ... BOTH OF YOU get tested (and not just hiv) ... be absolutely manogamous.
Condoms will help with both birth control and some diseases ... either way, you owe it to each other to BOTH get tested ... it's the price you have to pay when you start having sexual relationships!!!!

I'm pretty sure you can, yeah. My understanding, based on a class that I took in nursing school in Canada, is that a doctor may treat a patient who is a minor without consulting their parents if the minor appears to fully understand their treatment options and related information so they can make an informed decision. The example given in the class was a doctor prescribing birth control pills to a 16 year old who didn't want her parents to know she was sexually active.
If you call the clinic or the doctor's office where you want to go, I'm sure they will let you know what they can do for you and what (if anything) it's likely to cost you. In the meantime, you can buy condoms and spermicide at just about any drugstore.

I'm not sure if you need parents' permission or not
But I think it's better you ask even if you are scared than if you do not ask
It won't be worth it if you end up pregnant- and you took a big step becoming sexually active in the first place- so looking into birth control is one of the responsibilities that comes along with it that you have to accept
Good luck! Your mom will have to understand that it is your life and your choice even if she doesn't agree.

depending on which state you live in, you can go to the local health department and get birth control without your parents permission.
But I would really suggest talking with your mom or a counselor, there are other things out there besides just getting pregnant
Good luck.

My opinion is this: You are too young to be doing it and being active. I know that the media and everyone says celibacy is impossible but it's not. You are going to be another statistic with a baby one day and that boy you are with, he isn't going to be there for you. I know this will be the likely outcome since almost all of the women I try talking to have kids already and haven't been married because the dad took off. My best advice is to not have sex anymore, you are asking for a load of problems. If I were your mom I'd put you on lockdown or something because you aren't using your head very much. Sex feels good but in the long run if you keep it up you'll end up regretting it regardless of your feelings for this dude which will disappear one day. Think about it, let me know how it turns out.

At seventeen you do not need your parents permission. Your family doctor can prescribe them and will not divulge the information. Another way is to call "Planned Parenthood" who will also provide them at minimal cost. If you actually plan on being sexually active its best to get this out of the way before the time comes. Many young parents around who got caught unprepared and did not like the consequences.

the doctor can give u birth control without your moms permission, and u can buy condoms too. The fact that ur still scared of ur mom probably means that u aint ready to be having sex right now

See if your local clinic will allow you to get birth control at 17. In some states that is legally considered an adult. I am sure that any drug store will sell you condoms over the counter as well.

Not to encourage sexual promiscuity but I am sure Planned Parenthood can assist you. I would encourage you to not have sexual relations unless you are willing to be responsible for a baby. Abortion is not a viable option other than it kills. You really dont want to scar yourself or your family for the rest of your life. Both my sisters had abortions and I will never know if I had a niece or nephew. It affects everybody. I am deprived of these two lives everyday. Sex is a responsible activity not a recreational sport.
