The Nicene Creed uses the expression "begotten not born" as a counter to the heresy of Arian which believed that there was a time when Jesus Christ did not exist. Mainline Christianity believe that Jesus, as God, always existed.

Jesus is "begotten of the Father", but not born. To picture this imagine a plasma, a being of fiery plasma, and this being plunges his hand into his heart and removes more plasma. The plasma he removes is "light from light", "true God from true God", "of one substance with the Father" etc...as spoken in the Nicene Creed.

It means Jesus is the physical (begotten/sired) son of God.
Jesus is presented in the New Testament as the Son of God by virtue of His unique eternal relationship with the Father and by means of His unique virgin birth.

The Bible is very clear that the Christ is the firstborn of all creation. He was DIRECTLY created by God or begotten by Him. All OTHER things were created by Christ
with the direction of his Father.

begotten means "born of"..Jesus was born of the Holy Spirit..carried in the body of a virgin. It's a mystery how this happened, but not unheard of...think of cloning.

it's easier to visualize than explain. If you can picture God coming out of God and being encompased in what looks like a human figure but clear and amaterial (the soul) while some of Him still connects to one part of God through another Divine Person, then that's basically it.

basically, Jesus was part of God encompased in a soul and placed in a special body designed for Him and was connected to the Father by the Holy Spirit.

only-begotten son, means to "come forth", therefore, Jesus Christ has for all eternity "came forth" from GOd the father. Therefore, Jesus is eternal along with his father and their holy spirit. Think about it like this, rays (Jesus) "come forth" from the sun (G0d), and you feel the warmth (holy spirit) if you believe in them

The Holy Trinity are three seperate persons that make up one single nature (God). They work together to form one will.

Just like, the Sun, its rays, and the heat are a single action, but three seperate parts.
