I dont think they're quite the same car.

Check the resale values across the USA and see how their used cars are selling. Check with your insurance company. Do you want comfort ? Safety ? How soon do you plan to trade in ? What do you want from a car ?

I own a Nissan.....and Love it. I cant say much for the service though....they dont really work with you on getting your car in....damn near have to take a vacation to get your vehicle serviced. One disadvantage to the Altima.....its hard to guess where your nose and rear are when parking...its the designs of the trunk and hood. Maybe they've fixed that recently.

I did drive two models of the Mazdas....I liked the looks of them on the road....but was not at all pleased with the ride. The sound system was good....but it didnt thump like the Altima. They kind of have a "box on wheels" feel to them. Very practical....and trying to be sporty.

It wasnt impressive enough to make me lust for it.

I just bought an '07 charger. I was looking at altimas as well but they failed to impress me. Resale is almost the same for both, except if you're buying the charger r/t which is at least 7k more than the V6 models. The charger is hands down the more stylish of the two. Gas mileage is not too far off. The altima(vs charger 3.5) probably wins by a few gallons. Oh, don't buy the 2.7L chargers. They aren't meant for long term driving(small engine...heavy car). Good luck!

I would go for the Nissan, both manufactures have a long track record but the Nissan's in my opinion will last longer.
