Please stop dodging with stuff like "But I don't have to!" and "But Jesus was the only one that could!" My question is - WOULD YOU? It's pretty obvious that many many people would and do give up their lives for strangers on this planet. I think most of us would. Would you? And what does that say about the "sacrifice" a god who gives up his "life" would make?

Yes I would.
Especially if I knew my family would be among the thousand.
Jesus made no sacrifice, it was an honor.
Even though it never happened. Many others died far worse deaths than Jesus, and thousands have been crucified in history. Terrible, yes, but nothing special.

Would I go the cross to save others, no I wouldn't. I don't have that kind of courage. I'd like to say yes and make myself look like a better person than I truly am, but this answer happens to be the truth.

If I knew it would, then yes. Generally, I'm pretty misanthropic and don't like the majority of humans, but there are always a few good ones; I'd save them all to save the few.
