Sit down with your roommate and find out if they are okay with your bf moving in. That way each of you could pay a smaller portion of the rent. That way the three of you could each have a little extra money in your pockets also. If they are not cool with that then do the polite thing is to wait until the lease expires and then let them find an apartment on their own if they really want their own place.

I think that your boyfriend should at least ask him for SOME alone time with you.. even if its not over night.. if theyre friends, i know guys.. he could just be like "hey man, i wanna spend some time with my girl tonight, you think you could give us some time?" be a little perverted when he asks him.. essentially the roomate would be "c0ck blocking" if he didnt go.. which would make him such a douche bag... i know you said you guys arent having sex... but whether you are or not, as a couple youre entitled to have alone time. If all fails, may i suggest you boycott your boyfriends place. dont go unless the roomate isnt there. and when the roomate shows up, leave promptly. someone will get the point, whether its your bf or the roomate....

You moved into the place with your roomate. It is not up to him to uproot himself due to your new circumstances and needs. Your roomate has the first option as to what HE wants to do. Explain your circumstances and let him decide. Possibly you can all co-habitate?
