yeah for all the rude people out there i used the word bff not because i am 13 (i am 15 almost 16) but because i didnt want to use names. and yes she is outright mean to my friend i think she is jealous because they used to be close. and she lives with her mom but barely goes over there anymore

You dont say if your bff is living with them or her mother. If it is her mother is there a way she can see her dad without the step mom? Like meet somewhere and do things together for a few hours? Just the 2 of them.
This sounds like a sad situation and unless he grows a backbone and stands up for what is right nothing will probably change.

Unfortunately I don't think there's much she can do. I was in her situation growing up and I regret making an issue of it, because it made my life harder. Looking back, I should have kept my mouth shut and just tried to get through it as best I could. Sorry if this is not a satisfactory answer, but my conclusion is that someone in her situation can't win.

She will HAVE to learn to live with this situation, sooner or later. As the years pass into decades, this stepmom will still be right there. She might even turn into a great friend, when the daughter is an adult.
Hard to believe, but true!

this is right my alley because for 10 years i went through the same thing. i tried tellin my dad about it and he never believed me. does she have somewhere else to live? that helped wake my dad up a little bit, and he actually realized that i was telling the truth about who she really was. don't let her run away or go do something crazy like i did trying to get his attention, cause she will just end up hurting herself more in the process.

She should tell her meddling friends to stay out of her family life and address her father directly.
