She loves to play ball and it is hard to get her to stop and rest. She will finally get to a point when she gets her drink and plops down for the next 20 mins or so panting really hard. It scares me. When she goes for walks she pulls, which we are trying to break her of, but it doesn't seem to be working. By the time we get home she is totally out of breath and exhausted. It is usually only around 1 or 2 blocks!

How old is she?
Is she overweight?
More importantly, is she on heartworm meds? (Interceptor, Heartgard, etc)

Symptoms of heartworms include: lack of energy, coughing, difficulty breathing
I would see your vet and have her tested if she is not on heartworm meds.
Unless this is a really old or overweight dog, or the heat is excessive she should be able to go around the block a couple of times without becoming totally exhausted; can't you?

Shar Pei's and some similar dogs have breathing trouble. A PBS Documentary about Dog Breeding used breathing problems in Shar Pei's as an example of the adverse effects of selective breeding.

The only time I would worry is if there is a underling heart problem or if her is over weight.
Other wise it is perfectly normal. I take my dogs for a walk every morning it's 3 miles and they are pooped out and huffing and puffing when we get home.
Within a hour they are ready to go again.

That is not just a breed thing because I have a dog and he is not a pure breed and he does that every single time we take a long walk! It's not so don't worry, or anything! I really don't even know why you would be worried, though!

Sounds like she has more spirit than puff.Is she protected from heart worm?Get the vet to check her heart, and make sure she is protected from heart worm because the worm eats the heart away.Or she may have a weak heart. Its possible that it could be a breed thing but GET HER HEART CHECKED asap.
