God's promises never will be null & void. If He says His Written Word will always exist then it will. Amazing ...isnt it when some folks think that they can usurp or undermine God's plan & will for the Universe......it is ridiculous to say the least.......<>< <><

interior the Bible, “soul” is translated from the Hebrew ne´phesh and the Greek psy·khe´. Bible utilization shows the soul to be a individual or an animal or the existence that a individual or an animal enjoys. To many persons, besides the undeniable fact that, “soul” potential the immaterial or spirit component of a individual that survives the dying of the particular physique. Others realize it to be the thought of existence. yet those latter perspectives are no longer Bible teachings. Ezek. 18:4: “look! each and all the souls—to me they belong. by using fact the soul of the daddy so likewise the soul of the son—to me they belong. The soul* this is sinning—it itself will die.” (*Hebrew reads “the ne´phesh.” KJ, AS, RS, NE, and Dy render it “the soul.” some translations say “the guy” or “the guy.”) Matt. 10:28: “do no longer strengthen into frightened of people who kill the physique yet can not kill the soul [or, “existence”]; yet fairly be in concern of him which could wreck the two soul* and physique in Gehenna.” (*Greek has the accusative case of psy·khe´. KJ, AS, RS, NE, TEV, Dy, JB, and NAB all render it “soul.”) Acts 3:23: “certainly, any soul [Greek, psy·khe´] that doesn't hear to that Prophet would be thoroughly destroyed from between the people.” Eccl. 3:19: “there is an eventuality as respects the sons of mankind and an eventuality as respects the beast, and that they have got an identical eventuality. by using fact the only dies, so the different dies; and that all of them have yet one spirit [Hebrew, ru´ach].” (subsequently the two mankind and beasts are shown to have an identical ru´ach, or spirit. ) people say that the thief next to Jesus went to Paradise THAT day. HOW is that possible. Christ became lifeless and became no longer resurrected till the third day. of course that thief did no longer pass to 'heaven' in the previous Jesus did. Luke 23:40 two And he went directly to declare: “Jesus, bear in mind me once you get into your kingdom.” 40 3 And he stated to him: “incredibly I inform you today, you would be with me in Paradise.” Christ became telling the thief that he could be remembered interior the Resurrection, extra lower back interior the paradise earth AFTER the top of this technique of issues.

I'm a believer!
That said, how foolish and arrogant it must have seemed to the Jews of the day that the word of a supposed bast*rd son of a carpenter from a no account back water town of a conquered nation would never pass away; that the tree representing His word would grow to be the largest of all trees; that His kingdom would fill the earth. It must have seemed sheer lunacy that this work worn, sun weathered mere man would claim to be the Creator! That His Word would stand in judgment of them one day! That God Himself had given Him authority over all flesh and that He would raise up whom He wished.
Incidentally, God's Word is not merely contained in the Bible - it dwells in the hearts of His people; should the day ever come that every Bible on earth is burned, every Christian would have to be killed in order to stop the Word.

That is part of the Olivette discourse--Jesus is assuring believers that the Logas(Word) is forever. He was before the earth and he will be in eternity after the world

It doesn't sound too out of place for the time. When people believe in something they never think it will disappear. Ask a Muslim the same question without the verse. They are going to say something similar. I think it would be a bad thing for the bible to simply disappear, it is a great source of laughter and culture.

Don't worry about what they think.
If every Bible was destroyed, God's Word would always be here. Those that chose to follow God's Word would keep the Word alive in this topsy turvy world, all in how they live.

It is merely words from a very flawed, often editted, rewritten, misinterpreted work of fiction. That gives you a sense of assurance? It really shouldn't.

if superman promises he'll always protect the earth at the end of the comic book, it only affects young kids who don't realize the difference between a comic book and real life.

I don't think much of the verse, it doesn't affect me one way or another. But then, I don't use that book to do my thinking for me either.
