Why bother working through people after writing something like 10 Commandments Personally?

I believe that the original tablets contained much more than just the 10 commandments but the people were not ready for them so they got the "lesser law" which is the 10 commandments...

These commandments were just the beginning to guide the Jews in the coming times.
