What you are describing sounds like a tic. I would notify your surgeon. The cause of tics is unknown but is thought to be stress. Tics usually go away on their own in time, which can range from a few weeks to several months. Tics are common in children and teens but usually not present in adulthood.

If you do recreational drugs, you may want to consider abstaining from their use as they have a tendency to aggravate tics, particularly stimulant drugs.

Tics do not lead to any health issues but, as an adult, a tic may be a symptom of a disorder. I recommend that your first visit be to the doctor who did your eye surgery.
