For the record, I am not British. I am an American. But with that said, I think it is extremely admirable that Prince Harry WANTS to go to Iraq and lead his men in conflict. Personally, I believe it would be the honorable and obligated responsibility of all Royal people to serve in a public capacity like the military.
If history has taught us anything, it's that Kings and Princes of many nations led people to battle and fought along side their men and, yes, even died. It's certainly something you don't see now these days and when you do, one should be in awe that that person would do that.
People here wonder "if the President of the United States wants to fight Iraq, then why doesn't he go there and fight?" Personally, I think this to be a stupid question, however, in response to that, I say, look at the monarchs in Europe and observe a true sense of duty and loyalty to their nation. Me saying this comes from not only as an American, but also as a soldier who served in Iraq.
I didn't care for Prince Harry at first, however, I've seen, he's certainly matured and wants to serve the people no matter the cost. I find that admirable given his position.

The question of if he should go or not should not have even been a question. If the unit he was assigned to was scheduled to go then he should have gone.
What happened was the media put his life and the life of his fellow servicemen in jeopardy by advertising the fact that it was his unit getting called to action. It should be treason for even announcing what unit he was assigned to, even more so for all of the media attention and hoopla surrounding the possible deployment.
Now that the entire world knows his unit and when and where the unit will be, it would be stupid to send him or his unit into combat. But as of this morning the British apparently do not care, because he is going.
To the young Prince's credit, he is not the one that questioned if he should go or not. He knew and understood the consequences of joining the military and very honorably accepted them. It is the media that brought up the question.

he's being a reliable soldier, and no good soldier does his activity to be a "hero." They do it because of the fact this is basically what they are knowledgeable to do. yet on the turn area of that, he could understand that his being there is largely going to get his usa extra in contact in a conflict thata don't have occurred to start with. this is basically a remember of time in the past he's captured or killed, and then what is going to ensue? His usa will almost be compelled to retaliate if he's killed, or sink all of their efforts into rescuing him whilst he's captured. there will be movies and taped pleas, like the different hostage. His going there's a dying want, and it incredibly is irresponsible for a member of the royal kinfolk to place himself, and subsequently his usa, in such an impossible place.

That's a tricky question. Personally I’m thinking he probably shouldn’t go because he would put other soldiers in even more danger than they already are. We don't need to sacrifice any more people than we have to. But I do have a great respect that he wants to, they should all want to fight for the country they claim to be theirs, so good for him.

He is a professional soldier. He wants to go and fight, His family are rightly proud of him. He knew when he signed up that he would most likely have to get his hands dirty. If he is prevented from going, that sends a message to the enemy that we are scared of them.
I hope he goes, does his job well, gets his share of kills and comes back safely. That would be the biggest 2 fingered insult to the insurgents that he could give.

Naw,they dont need him over there...hes kinda worthless and some kinda playboy and there is no need to send somebody like him over there to endanger real soldiers just to make a point...then,of course, there would have to be bodyguards for him like algore had while he was in vietnam working in public relations....his daddy hired a bunch of Nung Mercenaires to follow him around and wipe his nose...so no,Harry needs to stay away

As a soldier, he should not have a choice.
As an officer, he should say yes to live and die with his soldiers.
As a symbol of the country (sort of), he should have the courage to say no.

of course he should, anyone who joins the armed forces MUST serve their country when the time for combat comes along, you can't join and not fight like the rest of us, you sign up for the armed forces, you MUST fight for your country, there's no getting out of it!
