God sent Hagar and Ishmael into the deserts of Arabia when he was a small baby.

Gods plan was to protect the progeny of the first born from all invasions, disasters and
hellenization so that the Last Prophet would come from the land of Ke'dar.

God revealed his name to Abraham and Abraham taught Ishmael who thereafter taught all the Arabs.

The Name "Allah" was known in Arabia even before the coming of Prophet Mohammed.

Allah is the personal name of the Lord of Abraham which has been forgotten by the Israelites.

The MOST famous name for God in the OT is called the Sacred Tetragrammaton –It is YHWH.

Yahweh was changed into Jehovah by Christians -- Mark 12:29

Harpers Bible Dictionary says that the name JEHOVAH was "the result of the translators' ignorance of the Hebrew language and customs" (1985 edition , p. 1036)

Jehovah is a mistaken name of YHWH.

The Book "World Religions From Ancient History to the Present" says : "The name Jehovah is a medieval misreading and does not occur in the Hebrew Bible" (edited by Geoffrey Parrinder, p. 386)

The Interpreters Dictionary of the Bible says the name Jehovah is "an artificial name" (vol. 2, p.817)

Asimovs Guide to the Bible says that the name Jehovah "arose by mistake" (vol 1, p. 135). The author further says : "This mistake has persisted and will probably continue to persist" (p.135)

"When it came to God's name instead of putting the proper vowel signs around it, in most cases they put other vowel signs to remind the reader that he should say "Adonai". From this came the spelling Lehouah, and eventually Jehovah ...(pg. 8 ,Watchtower Bible and Tract Society, 1984)

"The truth is , nobody knows for sure how the name of God was originally pronounced". -(page 7- Watchtower Bible and Tract Soceity, 1984.)

The name Yahweh is derived from the statement God made to Moses in Exodus 3:14. Moses asked God as to what his name was and he got the reply -- "ehyeh esher ehyeh" .

The editors of the NEW JERUSALEM BIBLE explain this as : "The Hebrew can be translated literally 'I am what I am' , which would mean that GOD did not wish to reveal his name to them" (p. 85)

"The truth is , nobody knows for sure how the name of God was pronounced" (Pg. 7 - Watchtower Bible and Tract Society)

Your OWN Koran says:

"My name is Allah and I have no son.."
Your Allah is NOT God. Should make you wonder.

Please don't quote The Jehovah's Witness Watchtower Society as an authority on anything. They are a cult and have lied for over a hundred years.

Please also don't quote Humanists like Asimov as any authority on God, either.

Mark 12:29 says no such thing:
Mar 12:29 And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments [is], Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord:
He has announced Himself over and over - why don't you listen??
Isa 44:6 Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I [am] the first, and I [am] the last; and beside me [there is] no God.
Rev 22:13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.

and HIS purpose will not falter!!

Isa 46:8 ¶ Remember this, and shew yourselves men: bring [it] again to mind, O ye transgressors.
Isa 46:9 Remember the former things of old: for I [am] God, and [there is] none else; [I am] God, and [there is] none like me,
Isa 46:10 Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times [the things] that are not [yet] done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:

The Christian Bible written in Arabic calls God "Allah". The moon symbol on Muslim flags was used by Constantinople (first Bible canonized in 325 A.D.) even before the birth of Christ. The Muslims adopted the crescent moon symbol after they defeated Constantinople in 1453 A.D.

As for God's name, early hebrews also called him El, which later became Allah.

But who knows what his real name is. Good question. You get a star.

If God did not wish to reveal his name, why did He have it recorded in the Hebrew Scriptures close to 7,000 times? If God did not wish to reveal his name, how is it that so many names of his ancient worshipers incorporate His name, such as Jekamiah (Jah Has Raised Up) [Jah being the shortened form of Jehovah], Jeriah (May Jehovah See), Jehoshua (Jehovah Is Salvation), Jozacar (Jehovah Has Remembered), Jozabad (Jehovah Has Endowed), Nehemiah (Jah Comforts), and so forth and so on? If God did not wish to reveal his name, why did he tell Pharaoh at Exodus 9:16 that the reason He had not destroyed Pharaoh was in order "to have my name declared in all the earth"? If God did not wish to reveal his name, why is the phrase "And they will HAVE to know that I am Jehovah" found in the book of Ezekiel 69 times? If God did not wish to reveal his name, why did his own son say at John 17:6 and John 17:26 that he had made his father’s name manifest? If God did not wish to reveal his name, why did his own son teach us to pray "Our Father in the heavens, let your name be sanctified"? It is true that nobody knows for sure exactly how God's name is pronounced. But by that line of reasoning, not only is Jehovah the wrong pronunciation, but Yahweh is wrong as well. Yet even those who insist upon Yahweh still fail to use it. It should be noted that the reason the proper pronunciation was lost in the first place is because there came a point (long after the close of the Hebrew canon) that certain Jews stopped pronuncing it. But the name was used quite normally in every day life by the ancient Jews - even using it in their greetings to one another: "Good day, may Jehovah be with you." A careful consideration of the scriptures reveals that God has a personal name; it’s not a big secret; he intends for it to be made known, and it means a great deal to Him. Since that is so, it ought to mean a great deal to us. Hannah J Paul

I know that Jehovah was the sacred name of the God of Israel, used especially with reference to His being the covenant God of His people. The name itself is spelled by only 4 letters in Hebrew YHWH. The Canaanites and other nations never used this name for their gods. Due to holy awe, bible copiers and readers refrained from even speaking it aloud; therefore the exact pronunciation has been lost to us. Today we prefer the form Yahweh over Jehovah.

The name literally means He Is and is similar to I AM, which God called Himself when speaking to Moses (Ex 3:14).

So sacred was the name YHWH that when Hebrews used letters representing numbers to number the Psalms, since the number 15 was made by YH(Y=10, H=5), they preferred to use the letters TV (9 + 6) for Psalm 15. In Exodus 6:3 "I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob, as God Almighty, but My name Lord (Jehovah) I was not known to them"-because of Abraham's use of the name Jehovah in Genesis 22:14. This speaks not of simple identification but of the attributes by which these patriarchs knew their God. To Abraham, God appeared as El Shaddai, the Almighty God, working in his family affairs, to Moses and to the nation Israel God revealed Himself as Jehovah, the self-existing God of the nation.

Why am I missing that verse in the bible where Abraham supposedly tells Ismael what God's real name is? Or that God even had another name other than YHWH?

Of course "Jehovah" isn't in the Hebrew Bible- it's an English translation of a Hebrew name!!!

YHWH-Yahweh-Jehovah

Why is that so difficult to grasp?

Hmmmm - isn't Allah the name of the moon god which was worshipped at the time of Muhammad? It seems a bit incongruous to me to destroy all the idols except the k'aba and the moon god. This was a concession of first rank on Muhammad's part and one of the telltale marks of a false prophet.

Boy, you must really fear JWs.

Alah is not a name anymore than god is. It is a descriptive title and means the god of Abraham.

Allah was one of MANY pagan dieties worshipped by Arabs. He was the moon diety. Ever wonder why so many Islamic countries have crescent moons on their flags? Ever think about the fact that mosques have a crescent moon on them?
Yes, Hagar gave a name to G-d. A wonderful name. But He has more than one Name.
