lemme watch
ah yes, christian hell houses. if there ever was a more horrible idea of fear ...well.....there isnot.
those things are horrible. theyre geared towards younger, more impressionable kids. full of misinformation, laughable scenarios and lacking any sort of actual ratonal thought.
yess hell houses are bad. but only because those who put them on have no idea what theyre talking about.

I only watched part of it because I thought it was ridiculous. Obviously the group that put on that production was thinking that the way to reach out to people was to 'scare' them into becoming Christians or something.. Personally, I don't think that is the way that people should 'find God'.. For one thing, after seeing something like that, if it does have an impression on you, you are going to make a choice based purely on some emotional 'fear' of what might happen.. I feel the same way about the 'fire and brimstone' type preachers.. They're basically saying 'be Christian or else'...
While there is a bit of sense to made out of the idea... I think it's one of the worst ways to try to attract people to church. I think a better way would be to actually show people love.. caring.. gentleness.. Be a 'light' in the community.. let people see that there is something 'different' about you .. and they will want to know more..
Don't try to scare people into going to church.. I think that in most cases, you're just going to end up with someone that isn't making choices for the right reasons.. and if they're not, then really, are they even going to stay?
Anyway.. beyond that.. I don't know what to say about the footage.. Like I said.. Stopped watching because it was pretty much annoying and 'silly' and all that.

Director Ed Wood never directed a film this bad! The digitally enhanced voices/sounds were so-so; costumes were reminiscent of a bad amateur production of 'Rocky Horror, The Musical'; terrible, jittery camera angles. Reminded me of a very bad re-make of 'Saw', by a bunch of drunken college guys, for the hell of it.
That's my opinion.

There's a lot of churches that do this at Halloween.
Disgusting? Yes. But it's not like scare tactics are anything new to Christianity. The doctrine of hell is disgusting all by itself.

Wow.
I have to confess I didn't even make it half way through. I feel a bit ill. You know, when Eminem or someone like that says something disturbing, it doesn't bother me because I know they're just going for shock value. But the horrifying thing here is that people actually BELIEVE this stuff.

Looks like the typical bullshit christians use to scare people into going to church. Pathetic. Once again, this is just another example of why I'm pagan.

I made it half way through. Can you imagine letting a child see that?
How weak can a religion be if it needs the threat of eternal punishment to get people to join and follow the 'rules'?

If they -the xians- don't have a argument one tactic is the "scare tactic". It just shows how small minded and retarded those kind of people are. But it exposes them to all of us and anyone with half a mind sees them for what they are, stupid.
