Hummer is junk, so thanks for letting us know right up front that you are completely clueless. If you are truly rich and classy you wouldn't be posting here and would probably drive a Porsche Cayenne or Lexus RX 430, not a boat on wheels that is ineffective at protecting US soldiers. Azera outshines you baby, sorry it had to blind you!_!

Oh you asked for it. Ok, first I owned a Hyundai. My parents have owned 2 as well. I'm not "nearly-homeless" as you put it, neither are my parents. Their house was appraised at over half a million JUST FOR THE HOUSE. This is out in Missouri so I don't even want to know what it's worth wherever your snobby rear end is from.
Second, do your research before making a comment like this. Yes, Hyundai used to be a brand that was not known for reliability or quality. Since about 1997, their reputation has changed. Currently, their cars are rather nice. They get better gas mileage than most cars offered by Lexus, they have some of the styling of Mercedes-Benz, and have a better safety rating than both of them combined.
Just because your neighbor's car doesn't cost over $36,000 doesn't mean it's a horrible car. Here's an example, after totalling my Hyundai I bought a 2003 Subaru WRX. It's pretty much the safest car on the market, gets about 20mpg, has a 4 cylinder engine pushing over 200hp, ALL WHEEL DRIVE, and a racing suspension. I paid $17,000 for a car that will out perform anything made by Acura, Lexus, Mercedes-Benz, and ANY domestic brand.
By the way, the hummer is a waste of sheetmetal. Soccer moms need to get a clue.

You are the most insecure piece of stuck up trash I have ever encountered. I come from a neighborhood where the smallest houses sell for $1.2 million. No one in our neighborhood drives a Hummer, but some drive Hundai's. Hummer's are unreliable and have the worst fit and finish on the market. You are from the "I want to look rich" crowd. Hummer's are not driven by people who are truly wealthy or anyone who is classy. If you actually had money, you would have a nice car, but not judge and bash a decent, reliable car, that can be bought for under $35,000. One of our neighbors traded in their Lexus ES300 and RX300 for a 2007 Hyundai Sonata and a 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe. They love them. Hundais that I have been in are just as nice as Lexus's and Acura's. I challenge you to test drive a 2007 Azera, Santa Fe, or Sonata. If you have any brains at all, you will be impressed. You will find better handling, better fit and finish, better interior design/ packaging/ ergonomics, and a better car than your Hummer. Sorry to everyone else who was offended by this stupid *****. Most wealthy people are not like this. Only the ones who have their credit cards maxed out, their house remorgaged, and are living pay check to pay check. This woman is an incredibly insecure *****.

Get into the 21st century Gomer, Hyundai has been building great cars for a long time. Do what I did before I bought my first one, ask around. For at least 4 years I asked everyone I saw in a parking lot or a gas station with a Hyundai how they liked their car and would they buy another one. After about 200 questions with not one negative reply I bought a Santa Fe. Right now my family has or has owned 5 Hyundais and none of them have been anything but great.

So you drive a Hummer, what does that prove? What year is it and is it paid for? I pay cash for my cars, three of the ones I have now were bough new, and will buy what I want/like. It make no differences of the brand or price, does make a differences on what I want. I don't have to prove to you or anyone else how much money I have or think I have. Why do you think you are so important? Let me tell you you are not that important and put your pants on the same as everyone else. So get off your high horse as you poor neighbor may have a lot more money that you and for sure is a lot happier that you.
You can believe the part about my paying cash for my cars or disbelieve it, I don't care as all I'm worried about is that I'm satisfied with what I have.

Well I guess you don't know much about cars... I drive a Hyundai and it doesn't make me better or worse, it's the snobby perception about the car turning yourself out, like the previous answers from the "mob" (incluiding myself) I say your neighbor really is a smart guy, not just because the money saved by adquiring an Azera, but for the whole pack the car is with its warranty included. If you are not sure about the answers from us, please visit www.edmunds.com, there you can check what a Hummer really is (provided you drive one...) and or course know that Azera is a near-luxury sedan squared directly to Toyota's Avalon, and please read about the Genesis concept, or Hyundai's Veracruz SUV, you'll be pretty surprised by the end of the day.....
LOVE FROM HYUNDAI

So are you saying that anyone who buys or drives a Hyundai is trashy? What a snobby ***** you are! Not everyone can have their husband buy them fifty thousand dollar vehicles. Have you ever had to work to buy anything in your life? I think not! Your a spoiled ***** with a rich husband. Maybe if you put in a hard days work you might understand that it's okay to own an affordable car that is nice. So what if it's a Hyundai. It's people like you that really disgust me. Your precious Lexus won't mean squat when your husband goes bankrupt and you have to try working for a living. And I really hope that happens to you so you can understand the value of a dollar, when your riding a bus to go work at Mcdonalds, to live by each paycheck! And by the way....... Acura is the American version of Nissan. Do you think Nissan's are trashy? I bet you do. Just remember they are the same company and your are a stupid, label concious, lazy, spoiled ***** of a housewife. THERES YOUR ANSWER!

Wow... I guess if you are worried about what people think about you, or have low self-esteem you should drive a Lexus or Acura. But if you work hard and care about the value of something, then the Azera is an excellent vehicle. Same luxury stuff, leather seats, power everything, etc. But it will not parallel park for you, so, if that is a problem, then spend and extra $20,000 on the Lexus!!

According to the car reviewers, Hyundai's quality has gone up year after year since 2000. And not in small increments - in 2001 the Elantra had very good safety ratings. And for people who don't have the income to spare on a Hummer (never mind that they always want to help the environment by not driving a gas guzzler), Hyundais are a good buy.
But back to your "question" - there are no regulations on what can or cannot be called a "luxury car."

Hyundai are really stepping up to the plate and improving every year. Could be that you are a bit jealous of the car or the driver. Either way sounds like you ave a bit of a problem.
Maybe someone should take you out and throw you in the back seat of the Hyundai and give it to you good. Oh yea probably a welfare hummer

Obviously you know nothing about Hyundai. The brand is now ranked #3 in the world for initial quality and consumer confidence. Your Hummer is nothing but an over sized Tahoe that gets horrible gas mileage and will never be used by 90% of their owners as a 4x4 vehicle (for which it was is actually designed).
As far as your relationship with your neighbor is concerned, you sound like the jerky snob of the block. I'm sure you and your household are held in high standing.
