I agree!
Think not that I am come to destroy the law. ... I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. ... Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled." Matthew 5:17, 18.
"For sin [breaking God's law--1 John 3:4] shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace. What then? shall we sin [break the law], because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid." Romans 6:14, 15. "Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law." Romans 3:31.

The purpose of God's law is to show us that we need grace. If we could do everything in God's law then we wouldn't need Jesus as our savior. What is meant by "not needing the laws of God" is that we can still have a friendship (or more precisely a Servant/King relationship) with God even though we have broken his laws.

The laws of God are not worthless. I believe they served their purpose in the pre-Church era under the Old Testament covenant(s). Under the old covenants, obedience to the law proved you believed Messiah would one day come.
During the church era, Christians (Protestants) rely solely upon grace through faith for our salvation. Christians believe Jesus Christ was the Messiah who was prophesied about in the Old Testament.
I can certainly understand how this could turn into an interesting discussion.

More than that.
If you set your mind on performing the things required by the law, Christians condemn you.
Yes, I'm sure that's a goal that Satan would have in mind.
Daniel 7:25 He will speak against the Most High and oppress his saints and try to change the set times and the laws.

Grace has to do with the salvation experience....."we are saved by grace through faith, and that not of ourselves, it is the gift of God"............grace(unmerited favor) is granted to anyone who accepts Jesus as his/her replacement on the cross for their own sins.
After salvation, we still are accountable for the deeds done in this body, whether good or bad. The new relationship we have with God compels us to live a moral life, and so generally we keep the law out of love for God and others. Our motives are changed though. It is not to keep us out of hell. It is not because it is the law. It is the Holy Spirit transforming us to do the will of a loving Father.

"For by grace are ye saved through faith. And that not of yourself, It is a gift from God and NOT OF WORKS, lest any man should boast." When man puts his works against the perfect Jesus he fall short. "There is but one mediator between God and man, the man Christ Jesus."
Grace is God gift because the Law did not work. No man can keep all 600+ Levitical Law. "If you are guilty of one part of the Law you are guilty of the entire law"
The Law is not useless but it will not save you.

We did not say that we do not need the laws of God. In and through Jesus the law was fulfilled so by our accepting Him, through God's mercy and grace by faith, the laws are still in effect.

I am a Christian and know that I need to be on guard all the time. I pray my spiritual armour on every day because I know that Satan is probably more out to trap the Christian. He has everyone else already. I know that I certainly need God's law.

Yes!
P.S. I've heard Christians say this tons of times! Tons! If you just believe....some say that they have to follow laws but most of them that they have to follow laws also say it is not what gets you into heaven. Then they come to the conclusion that you only need to accept Jesus as savior and even if you don't follow the laws you still get in!
