When wine is not ready for use for several days in advance or if you have a lot of bottles, what is the best way to store it until ready and why.

Trying to ecourage friend who is a little anxious about storing a few $$$ wines on a rickety p

Please provide any useful links as a reference.

depending on how many you have, either in a cool dark spot like a closet where the temp remains fairly constant and not above 72. or if you have a lot, buy a wine fridge.

always be sure to store the bottles on their side no mater where they are. it will keep the cork wet so it does not dry out, shrink and let air in to kill the wine.

If the temp allows, no more than 72 degrees, you should be fine putting the wine on the floor of a closet that is not opened much. If it get warmer than that the refrig may be the way to go. Either way, the key is keeping a consistent temp. The variance can put the wine into "bottle shock". Good luck!!

The best storage place for wine is in your stomach. The humidity is just right and you never have to worry about the bottle breaking.

on it's side in a cool dark place- wrap each bottle in a section of newspaper if you are afraid of them nicking each other.
