You sound very normal to me.
There are times in difficult circumstances when we see no divine input and our mind will doubt.
Try and see yourself like this:
You ARE a spirit and God created you in His image and likeness.., AS A SPIRIT..., with all your consciousness and awarenesses and 'knowing' aspect. When you were 'born againg' by responding to God's call to you and accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savoir, your "spirit" was all that was born again..., renewed so to speak, and your spirit is experiencing an Earth life and human existence.
BUT... your spirit HAS a soul: your mind, will and emotions that were NOT born again and they have to be renewed by the WORD of God (Bible) and your soul/mind cannot be 'the boss' anymore because God told us that the carnal mind (opposed to the mind of Christ that we have now since redemption) is not obedient and cannot be.., so we are responsible to NOT let it dominate us with 'worldly' thinking. Our un-renewed mind refuses to accept anything it cannot 'SEE, TASTE, TOUCH, HEAR, SMELL, and the like. It is very scientific and annilitical in nature and is given us by God to keep us 'gounded' so to speak in the earth realm we live in. It was never given us to ascertain our spiritual life in the kingdom of God or to know God..., that is our spiritual nature and life.
Our spirit knows about our mind and wants that input..., like you are driving on the wrong side of the road, the soups too hot to put in your mouth, etc., but our mind isn't convinced about our spiritual part or God..., see? And, we live in a body. This body is connected to the world around us and to God through our born-again spirit.
Doubt happens when our mind thinks it is in charge and it gives us the best info it can..., but not always reliable about spiritual matters.
We are told to renew our mind by the WORD of GOD... and it's easy enough.., "FAITH COMES BY HEARING AND HEARING THE WORD OF GOD"...., so, read the Bible out loud so your ears hear it!
Don't worry about this and just anchor yourself. "Spirituality" isn't a feeling anyway.
When your use the multiplication tables do you wait to FEEL like they will work? NO! God's Word works for us whether we feel like it is or not. It's certainly more reliable than the multiplication tables... God is faithful! He does His part and we have to do our part to have faith in His faithfulness!
Read your Bible and "LET FAITH COME". It's not anything we can cause, but it is something we can participate in the happening of.., is that making sense? Hope so.
Our mind is reprobate, it's a doubter by nature, but can be subdued under the truth of our spirit being in the image of God and FEEDING our spirit 'spirit-food' to make it strong.
Our mind is the devil's play ground..., don't let him play on yours!
You ARE A SPIRIT, you HAVE A SOUL: mind, will, emotions
you LIVE IN A BODY!

I sometimes doubt myself, but I honestly never doubt that God exists. I know He does. Science will never prove Christianity wrong--God is the greatest scientist there ever was. Scientists may think they can prove the Bible is wrong, but they can make mistakes, God can't, and the Bible is His absolute truth. There are no contradictions in the Bible either--there are many things in it we don't understand, but the fault lies with man again, not God. And it isn't necessary, or even Biblical, that we should feel God's presence all the time. Faith isn't based on what we can feel and see. Faith comes by hearing the word of God. We don't have to feel His presence to know He's with us--we know that by believing His word, which tells us He is with us always, and through prayer.

I know that there is always air around me and I do not always feel the breeze. "Contradictions" in the Bible are only considered such when taken out of context. And please do not just limit contradictions to the Bible. They are in every employee handbook or code of conduct if you want them to be. As far as science goes... the more they try to prove Christianity wrong, the more they realize how true the Bible is.
We all have a measure of faith. What we do with it and where we place it is a decision that only we as human beings can make. I made the choice to follow and trust God for everything. Do me a favor and look up the word faith in the dictionary. Then look it up in the Bible-Hebrews 11:1. Notice the connection. It is actually harder to discredit than it is to accept any thing.
Let me ask you a question. When you were younger, did you trust and believe your parents to provide everything you needed? You had faith and in great measure. It is the same with our Heavenly Father.

I hope you won't mind me answering, even though I'm a Hindu, and not really a Christian. I grew up a Christian, and since I no longer am one, I obviously did have doubts. But I want to say that most of those initial doubts I had - even the ones that made me stop being Christian - have been resolved, after much study. I will soon have my bachelor's in Religious Studies from a secular university. We have studied quite our share of Biblical Criticism. And yet, I find that the gist of the Bible is true. Yes, there are contradictions, there are "problems" with a literal interpretation. But if you learn to appreciate it as metaphor, as I have, then you really do start to appreciate it on a whole new level. In fact, I probably appreciate it more now than I did when I called myself a Christian. For me, a literal interpretation often misses the point.
I just want to point out that many of the biblical scholars are strong Christians - and most of them admit to certain contradictions and problems. Yet they are able to believe. How do they have such faith? I think it is because they realize that God works through humans. So it is ok with them if the Bible is not perfect, because God still works through that means, to speak to them.
I am once again close to Jesus. I have a real compassion for him since I have learned more and more. The key for me is to take the Bible as metaphor, as allegory. Remember that Jesus' most eloquent teachings were via parables. I see much in the Bible as a parable, that if you insist on taking it literally, you miss the deep lesson it is trying to teach.
If I were you and wanting to develop stronger faith, I would remember to talk to Jesus throughout the day, in your heart. And I would say, "Jesus, look, I don't know everything, and I don't know if all this is literally true. Help me to be a better person, and to have love for you and my fellow human beings, as you taught us to do." Keep in mind what you DO know. Even if Christianity were not true, it would still be true that you should practice love and morality. And these are the greatest lessons that I think Jesus taught us. If you practice his teachings, you will know him. It's ok to have doubts. God gave you a brain and it is bound to come into doubt if it sees a weak argument. Just cling to what you do know - that love and morality are right. And decide to live according to these great principles.
I wish you the best.

First of all science is not at odds with Christianity at all. Science has not proved Christians wrong.
As far as contradictions go...there are not contradictions in the Bible only contradictions in interpretation. This is because human beings are contradictory! We are flawed and our "sense and logic" are not always correct.
Christians do have doubts at times, but these doubts are caused by our sinful nature. Faith is not about feelings. Faith is when you can't see for sure but you trust.
Belief in God in not an opinion but a revelation.

I sometimes "wonder" but I have "felt" God and I can never in my life again say there is NO God. This however is a personal statement for me, and I can understand why others don't believe or doubt etc.
There are a lot of answers I do not have, but once I found God, they just didn't seem to matter so much anymore. I have felt His presence in my life and I know giving my life to God is the right choice for me.

I can't really say "easy", but I don't doubt God's existance because a) faith b) strength of will c) someone trying to prove Christianity wrong is a constant.
and I believe that the truth is often what is opposed the most. and since about 2/3 of the world have a problem with Christ, He's logically the One.
and as for Biblical fallacy, I have yet to find one. I don't really care what you call me for it, but I see "yes, there are things that we say is wrong, but they are written that way for a reason". for example, people argue about slight variances in the gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John: the authors had different focuses; Mark told from Peter's point of view which was fast-paced and got to the point quickly focusing on the big picture, Matthew wanted to be very detailed and show every aspect of Jesus and salvation, Luke wanted to high-light Jesus' humanity, John wanted to high-light Jesus' Divinity. As for old testament, it basically shows that there was a covenant of "children" and we enter into a covenant of maturity.

A co-worker came into work one day all excited stating he had scientific proof that God exists. He's a Christian and belongs to Fathers for Christ, so I was a little surprised. It had never occurred to me that you could prove, or had to prove that God is real. There has been a higher power-God-whatever you choose to call it, in my life for as long as I can remember. Through deaths, illnesses, heartbreak, in general, life, I have never doubted there is a God. People can try to prove contradicitions in the Bible, etc. it has never changed the feeling I have in my heart and soul.

Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Faith needs to grow, and how it does this is by being in God's word. That is how I came to grow stronger in my faith. Whatever "science" or anyone else has to say will not move me off the foundation of His word.
And I don't feel His presence often. My "feelings" have nothing to do with what is true; His word does. And if Jesus said He would never leave nor forsake me, than that is so.
My faith has grown over the years by bible study most of all, and by being in prayer, and of course, seeing the hundreds of ways God has made good on every promise.

You have to stand your ground. If you don't stand for something, you will fall for anything. The resistance is just like a tree in the wind. It serves to strenghthen. The way I try to keep my faith alive is by looking back on supernatural events that have taken place in my life. And the mere fact that I'm 42 yrs.old and I have been living on a prayer from my mom when I was born I had fluid in my lungs. The doctors gave up hope for me and drug my mom up to break the news to her. well during the night my mom prayed and she saw a vision of Jesus putting His hands in my isolette and the next day the doctors were flabergasted, I was 100% . So almost everyday I see supernatural things and it still amazes me. Anywho, Take care and may God bless you spiritually.

I am not one of those lucky Christians who can claim to never have doubted God's existence, those people are truly blessed with great faith. For a while, I was unsure of God's existence, but then I had some what can be called strange experiences, I believe that God bestows upon some people great faith, however, he gives enough evidence out there for people who want to believe in him, yet do not have that great faith, to still be able to truly believe in him. (wow i worded that bad, but you get the point).
