Coming back from Atlanta last month, I did 900 miles in a long day, with a stop to drop off the family at the airport. Long Distance driving however, it's best not to plan on more than 500 miles a day. Especially if you're carrying kids or the Mrs. If you do a marathon, don't try to stack up more than 1 extra long day or do a 24 hr run, it ain't worth the risk.

Between 160 and 400 miles a day.

50 miles from home to work.
50 miles from work to school.
60 miles from school to home.

Plus any mileage I have to drive for work. It's never been more than a total of 400 miles a day.

I commute 37 miles to work. For those who may make the comment why don't I move. It's not that simple, especially when the housing market is not conducive to selling a house and your spouse commutes in the opposite direction. Also, I don't want to make my teen transfer to a different school system.

I estimate that I put around 500 miles a week on my vehicle. Thank God for an economy car!!

As a commercial driver in a truck governed at 65, I can legally drive only 660 miles. If I could go faster of course the average would be higher.
