I'm just curious. I would like the un-stereotyped version. Thanks :)

The best thing to do is go to the Religious Tolerance website (linked below).

Anyone who tells you that Satanism is only devil worship doesn't know what they're talking about. The website has lots of good information, but here are 4 beliefs of the Church of Satan pulled from one of the Satanism pages:

- They do not worship a living deity.
- Major emphasis is placed on the power and authority of the individual Satanist, rather than on a god or goddess.
- They believe that "no redeemer liveth" - that each person is their own redeemer, fully responsible for the direction of their own life.
- Satanism respects and exalts life. Children and animals are the purest expressions of that life force, and as such are held sacred and precious...

Satanism is a word which has been used since the end of the Middle Ages to describe a number of different belief systems in a number of contexts. People claiming to be Satanists—or outsiders claiming to describe Satanism—ascribe a wide variety of beliefs to Satanism. These range from the literal worship of a malevolent spiritual being (Theistic Satanism); to a kind of subversive ritual performance stressing the mockery of Christian symbols (most notably the Black Mass); to the claimed rediscovery of an ancient but misunderstood religion (e.g. Setianism, which conflates Satan with the Egyptian god Set); to the exaltation of hedonistic recreation, and the celebration of selfishness and pleasure.

A true Satanist is not a bad person and they don't practice all the horrible things that people think. They don't sacrifice animals or drink blood. I'm sure there's people who do, but they're just crazy, not true Satanists. I actually went to their website and checked them out. They have a lot of valid beliefs and I think they are judged on the reputation of their name instead of what they actually believe in. There are alot of satanic websites, so make sure you're on the Church of Satan website. It lists all their beliefs and how to join. (I think it costs $250 to be a card carrying member.)

it really is for LaVeyan Satanism, not Theistic Satanism. a million) What do Satanists believe about lack of existence? Is hell their heaven? Or do they stop to exist? Or what? We settle for lack of existence through its organic and organic definition; the proper of existence in an organism. We believe there is not any Heaven, no Hell, or any type of afterlife. 3) Do they believe that God and devil have equivalent capacity? If not, then why be a Satanist once you comprehend God might want to ruin devil? We believe neither God or devil have any capacity as they don't exist. we are Satanists because devil as an emblem represents carnality, competition, and maximum heavily, delight. 4) What are Satanistic thoughts on the bible? extremely, the area that discussions the defeat of devil? It relies upon on the Satanist, no matter if there is any moral to the e book. yet none human beings settle for it as reality, or as historic or cutting-edge activities. The chapters of the defeat of devil do not subject us. we do not believe contained in the Biblical devil. 5) What are encintives of being a Satanist? Do Christians believe that Satanistic clergymen have powers? each Satanist, regardless of their status contained in the Church of devil, has capacity. Satanists are self empowered and proud. we are able to significant issues because we do not believe there is something higher than us to restriction us. 6) Do you've self belief that, to have a extra efficient understanding of Christianity (and God), you ought to study what Satanists believe so that you may have an universal extra efficient understanding of Christianity (devil is amazingly slightly an ingredient of it)? No. LaVeyan Satanism does not settle for the Christian devil and is not inspired through Christianity. Neither do i imagine 1 ought to study Theistic Satanism to understand Christianity, as a lot of them do not believe contained in the Christian devil; yet an older, pre-dated devil. Cheers, Amanda

Being satanic is actually not the worshiping of Satan, but the worship of yourself, so to speak. They don't believe in God and think that you need to but yourself first to really be happy. They believe that you should indulge in life, rather than let the church or whatever guilt you into not doing things that feel good (sex, drugs, food, etc). They don't promote these things, it's more of just a live and let live mentality -- if you like it, do it. The fact that they call it a 'bible' and Satanism is really just a way for them to make fun of the church.

LaVeyan Satanism in a nutshell - indulgence rather than abstinence. They believe (from my understanding of the Satanic Bible) if it feels good, do it. Note that this isn't always evil - afterall, one can derive pleasure by doing something kind for someone else one cares about.

There is no god, nor is there a demonic force.

Respect everyone but do not put up with those who do not respect you.

Do not kill except for food. Never kill humans or for pleasure. Defense is permissible.

Life is precious. Live it. Do not take away from another's ability to do so.

I'm a little disappointed with them - they couldn't even invent their own deity.
