Why marry the loser anyway? Oh if you marry him and he is deported, you can qualify for welfare. Smart thinking.

If the local jail allows you to marry him you can. His status won't change at all. The odds are he's going to be deported and banned from coming back for a long time. You might want have a backup plan for moving back to his country with him.

a person w/ a felony and is only a green card holder may be in risk of losing even his green card status... and he might never become a citizen....

what kind of felon is he? is he someone you're even safe with? or do you think you can have a secure future with a "felon"
even if you love him, you gotta think of these things especially if you have a child... that child should be your first priority

You can marry Jack the Ripper, if you want. It will not help his status one whit. If he is convicted of a felony he will likely be deported.
