Is there really such thing as the Devil or a witch?

It worries me that you ask if there's such a thing as a devil or a witch in the same sentence like that because it shows that you're a bit confused about what a wtich is about. But to answer your questions:

Yes, the Catholic church still performs exorcisms. Other Christian denominations do as well.

Whether the devil exists depends on which theological traditions you follow. In the Abrahamic ones (that's Christianity, Islam and Judiasm) there is a Devil. Others not so much, or they ascribe evil to a different entity.

As individuals who practice the wiccan religion 'witches' do exist. Many of them don't like that particular title because of all the negative connotations in society today. We non-Abrahamic people do have a bit of education to do any time we actually state our beliefs.

Why is it weird to mention the devil and witches in the same sentance? Becasue wiccans don't believe in a christian hell or a christian satan it makes your question obtuse and misleading.

Some of the louder fundamentalists though, will no doubt be pleased.

Yes, excorcisms still occurs today...in Jesus' time demon possession was rampant, but as times have changed Satan has gotten a little more sophisticated with his tactics. He knows most people have seen the Excorcist and therefore demon possessions are a little out of style. There is still the occasional demonic possession, but usually his devices are a little more subtle...as for one of the comments earlier that witches are mostly good...there is NO SUCH THING as a GOOD witch.

Exorcisms still exist today mostly in non-western religious groups and peoples. In Tahiti the shamans perform several excorcisms daily. Nobody can actually say for sure if the "Devil" exists... it's all up to personal belief. There are people who refer to themselves as witches and there just plain are witches. In many places, like parts of Africa for example, witches are anyone who uses the supernatual or religious rituals to harm another mentally, physically, or otherwise. In the U.S. there are many people who practice wicca or other forms of "magickal" religions who refer to themselves as witches.

There was an exorcist on the Dr. Phil Show just last week. The devil is representative of evil and there are practising witch covens in the US today.

Witches... depends on what you mean by that.

Wiccans and some other Pagans are witches, but if you mean the Harry Potter or a pointy black hat with a warty nose kind of witch... no.

Yes people still do exorcisms today. and as far as Devil or Witch... well... it really depends on what you define, some people call nasty people witches some people call Wiccans witches... likewise with Devil. So it really depends on what you classify to be a Devil or Witch

Yes Sakuracherry, I have recently read the life story of Fr.Gabriele Armoth who was the official exorcist in Rome for fifty yrs and it is mind blowing indeed,he pointed out that although he performed many exorcisms in all that time,demonic possessions are not as common as we might think, but demonic oppression is very common indeed.

People who strongly believe in their faith can sometimes trick their mind into thinking they are possessed. The excorcism has more to do with getting the persons mind in the right place and less to do with actually getting rid of a demon.

There are lots of witches, but most do good stuff.
I don't believe in the devil but there is definitly bad energy out there we need to keep out of us.
