The best tattoo, in my opinion, is a temporary one! That way you can try out different styles on different parts of your body that you may be considering. There are some very good temporaries on the market, that will last through several bathings, so you don't have to compromise :)
You're body is your temple! Now I have seen some tattoos that I thought were really cool, but something to consider is, since tatoos are PERMANENT...how will a tattoo effect your career?
So many things change, including our desire to pierce & tattoo our bodies. As we grow & our values & perceptions change, we sometimes get "stuck" because of choices we made once upon a time that were permanent...like tattoos. Hope that helps!

My dear, if you do not know WHAT to get you should wait. If you are even unsure that you want it and have to ask people here IF you should get it, then chances are you are NOT ready to get one.
For a happy tat:
Find something you love and that has meaning to you.
Want it bad enough that other people's opinions about tats means nothing to you.
Know EXACTLY where you want it.
Want it for a long time with no doubts before getting it.
Understand that tats are not just a "fun and different" thing to do on a random night out(or anytime for that matter), they are a lifetime commitment!
Do research for the best tat artists in your area.
I recommend doing your own art, or giving your idea to a good tat artist who will draw it up for you....this only if you are set in getting one.
I can't stress enough that if you are unsure about getting one then you don't need to get one! I am all for tats (have 3 myself) but I hate to see people doing it for "fun" and not understanding the commitment or thinking about what/where they are putting on their bodies for the rest of their lives! that is a recipe for regrets.
Take time out and think about it harder and longer .

I agree with "Somebody" if you don't know if you want one or not than the answer is don't get one. Indecisiveness is not good when it comes to PERMANENT tattoos. I have 14 tats and have never regreted a single one. Only get one when you are sure. Good Luck

I have to agree with everyone else... if you don't know what to get, then don't do it at all... now if you are looking for helpful hints... it should be timeless and speak to you... it's a personal choice and expression after all...
I was inked about 9 months ago and i don't regret it yet... but i'm sure the day is coming... most of the time it does. it isn't permanent... you can have it removed... but it's going to hurt

Everyone I know that has tats regrets getting them. Remember that a tattoo is for life, it fades, wrinkles when you get old, and unless you have something really close and important to you that you'd like to commemorate it with a tattoo, then do not get one.

Sorry, but this is kinda dumb.
A tattoo is personal. It should mean something to you...afterall, it will be there FOREVER.
If you don't know what to get....DON'T GET ONE!
Don't let someone else make a decision of something that will be permanent on your body? That just doesn't make sense.
If you want one. Wait until you have something that means something to you!

If you have to go online and ask strangers ......then the odds are about 100 to 1 that you SHOULDN'T get a tattoo.

if you don't know what you want or don't even know if you want a tattoo then don't get one. many people who are indecisive end up disliking their tattoos later in life. just hold off until you know for sure that you do want one and know for sure what you want.

if u are asking alot of strangers if u should, then u should definately NOT get one until u are sure. u should know when and what u want before u get one. remember, it is PERMANENT!!!!!!
