It began as a protest against the Catholic Church, but after that occured, they began to instead of calling for reform in their Church, simply splitting on every issue they dissagreed on. Gradually they became like a branch system, as more and more sects developed. Their protests will not end until the end of time, because they have gotten so used to their way of settling Church differences, that is to start a new Church every time a problem arises.

i don't understand in case you're mocking or asking an honest question. There are denominations that are neither "Catholic" nor "Protestant." a lot of those denominations use the previous liturgy that became used the two interior the Anglican and Catholic church for hundreds of years. in certainty there became an genuine church in England in the process the Roman Empire and after this is fall that had this is very own liturgy and this is very own Bishops. It became basically afterward that the English church joined the Catholic church. a number of those denominations that use the previous liturgy have been around for hundreds of years, so that they are no longer Protestant, they did no longer sort as a effect of the Protestant flow that each physique started with Martin Luther. yet those days they frequently get lumped in with Protestants, it basically isn't genuine that there are Catholic or Protestant, it incredibly is a faux fact and has been fake for extremely almost 2,000 years. bill Mack, i do no longer think of you're deluded. i'm sorry I replied the question in an honest way now. the extra comments practice he would not want an honest answer.

Protestents are called protestents because they came about when Luther, a Catholic priest, grew disillusioned with the Catholic church and started the Luthren church. He was christian, but many things that the Catholic church said he didn't agree with. There are so many different denominations because they don't all agree with everything the other denominations believe in.

The protestants were those who protested the Christian church during the 1500's.
The Reformation was a religious movement that divided the Christian church into Catholic and Protestant branches, and was led by Martin Luther. The Protestants followed Luther and the Catholics continued to follow the Pope.
As for what they are still protesting... I have no idea.

The Protestant Reformers were protesting the Catholic Church.

The only true Protestants around these days are those former Catholics that have left the catholic faith for one reason or another. All the others are non-Catholic Christians.

The Catholics changed Christ's teachings. The Protestants didn't like the fact they did that and literally "protested" the Catholic church. They strived to get the Christian church back to the recognizable, true teachings of Christ.

Their protesting will never end and so as their splitting churches. Remember, when the Israelites wanted a king of their own and God gave in to their wish, they end with many tyrannic kings and beg God for help. Same goes with those protestants, they will continue to protests and split till kingdom come!!!

Our aim is not to agree with one another, it is to place the scriptures as most important in understanding God. The Roman Catholics don't do that. Traditions and popes take precidence with them. That's what 'Protestants' are protesting. That the Pope in no way belongs between them and God. The movement tool hold because the Roman Catholic church was persecuting any Christian who dared to own a Bible, especially in languages other than Latin, and they looked to Jesus Christ as their mediator, not Mary.

As John Foxe had written, I take on a recognition of the name "Reformed". In that the true Christian belief system was not Roman Catholic, but rather it was based upon the focus of 'God can be trusted'. Especially when it comes to praying. Protestants do not, nor did Jesus or the Apostles say, to wroship Mary OR the saints through prayer, as if God didn't have time to hear us, or need a council of heavenly hosts to tell him what to consider.

So we are not trying to agree with eachother when our eyes are on God, and Him only for the relationship that we have with Him.

They protested the church making million selling indulgences. They protested the church calling brothels convents. They protested the killing of millions just because they did not say their prayers in latin.
