That wasn't G-d's call. It was the Pope's idea. At the time Europeans were the "barbarians". The midle east was going through a golden age. Jerusalem passed back and forth between the Muslims and Christians. Saladin, a great ruler during one of the crusades, wanted the fighting to stop and wanted to keep Jerusalem as place for all religions to live peacefully. After the Crusade he and King Richard III actually became really good friends.

This replaced right into a protracted time in the past and it replaced right into a war to regain land that replaced into taken away. They have been human beings. It began out good yet human beings made errors. sure. This wasn't Jesus conflict. If it replaced into Jesus conflict then the Crusaders does not have lost it. So, i'd wager the Crusaders have been a mix of actual Christians and non secular and unbelievers. It replaced into the muslim crusaders that overtook the land contained in the 1st place. that they had overtaken Christian churches and switched over them into mosques. The crusaders mistakenly attacked Jews additionally, no longer recognizing who the enemy rather replaced into.

The Crusades started because Muslims invaded Christian lands. Muslims started the "murdering." The crusades were done to take the placs back that the Muslims had invaded. Look at the actual history and not just the mainstream jabbering and you will see this.

Your argument is rather silly. But to answer your question, no, He did not approve. Not because "He is a God of love", since this touchy-feely God also believes in war. But because of how the Crusades were done in "His name" when He never commanded it.

The Crusades took place because the Roman Catholic Church translated the Bible into Latin, locked it up behind gates and said, "Thus and thus is what God says." From this we got inquisitions, crusades, indulgences and the like.

When the reformation translated the Bible into German and English, the average person could stand up to the evil popery and say "No!" for the Bible says thus and thus. Then the killing and fleecing soon stopped.

Most Christians today would say "no" but if you asked the Christians of that era if God approved they would have said "yes" and they were Christians long before modern Christians became Christians and so you have to ask yourself who is interpreting things correctly. All most every religion has been used and still is used to justify war, hate, murder, and violence and every time it was and is claimed to be God approved.Makes you wonder....

No they didn't. But since the Mohammedans were hellbent on murdering every infidel and overrunning Europe, Christians did have a right to defend themselves and their countries. If not for the Crusades Europe would be 100% Islamic today, and by extension so would North and South America, having been settled by Islamic Europeans.

Those weren't Christians that murdered during the Crusades.
By the way, "blaming" God doesn't excuse your own sin.

You can't blame the religion itself for that- it was the ruling class's abuse of that religion...

On the flip side of that- you can understand how those people could have felt justified in doing that considering the tone of the old testament- life really didn't mean much to God in those books.
Not to mention the undeniable frequency at which this particular religion gets abused in this way.

During those happy days, God reached out to many of the Christians and the Muslims and told them to kill each other, because he was bored. He loved his people too much, so he wanted to give them some entertainments.

Ask the Roman Catholic Church about that one. Plus, you have to read up on your history and remember the Muslims were fighting for control of the Holy Land also.
