Because precious parts of the Gospel were lost during the Apostacy. The restored Gospel of Jesus Christ does offer detail descriptions of these.

Have you ever had someone explain to you what a place was like? For example you have a friend and they are trying to explain where their childhood was, what the area was like what the people were like and you never being there nor witnessing any of this first hand don't' really get it? Well, it is one thing to be there and try to explain someplace, it is something else entirely to try to explain something off of what someone explains to you. I think even if we could see Heaven it would be highly difficult to describe let along trying to be accurate coming from another entity. Howver, there are parts within the Bible that do explain both Heaven and Hell in detail, nevertheless, some ppl will never have enough detail until they see it with their own eyes.

As for Islam? I don't' know, I only know fractions and scarce concepts of the religion so it would be unfair for me to judge, however I do know why I feel Christianity is more vague on details.

Historically, "Hell" was not a developed idea during Jesus' time. The majority of debate centered around how to maintain Judaism's purity in the midst of the Roman Empire. About a generation before Jesus' birth in 4 CE, two popular rabbis Hillel and Shammai led this debate, but very little was decided. So little, that a new sect, called the Pharisees were born from it.

Several ideas were debatable in Jesus' time: such as the resurrection of the body and how the end times would play out. Most agreed with the physical resurrection, but it was up in the air if end times meant the end of the earth or the end of the Roman Empire (a world in their thinking.)

Hades and Sheol was the closest "idea" to our hell, which wasn't defined until May 30, 325 CE at the Council of Nicea. Both Greek concepts do not come close to a burning lake of fire!

So, to answer the quesiton: Muhammad had the advantage of 6 centuries to develop a detailed account that did not concern the people of Jesus' day.

Those of The True Christian Faith are some divided on that subject.... IMO, they should not be... but... the truth is... no one knows........ for sure certain........ I do not consider islam when referring to Heaven..l. because. regardless of exactly when one arrives at their ultimate destination..... no muslims will be found in Heaven..... It is my belief that the souls of humans, when they leave the body, enter a sleep-like state..... those of The True Church(all those of The True Christian Faith) will. at some point, be called up by Christ and taken to Heaven.... those not of the True Church will continue to sleep unti they too are called up 1,007 years after The True Church..... those will face the Final Judgement and punishment..... which... at best will be eternal separation from God..... there is also some debate on the final fate of those who do not enter Heaven.... again... no one knows for certain..... This Earth will be destroyed and a New Earth will replace it... on the New Earth The New Jerusalem will be the "center"/ capital... of this universe..... God's Son will have his throne there............ and there is a Lot more that is not known by any mortal at this time......... What I do know for certain is:....... All who come to God in The Way He prescribes will receive His Free, and Eternal, Gift of Salvation.... those become a part of The Body of The True Church commissioned by God with His Son as The Head..... Those are the ones of The True Christian Faith... Only those of The True Church will enter Heaven....... those who are deceived by the false, man-invented, evil that is islam will be eternally separated from God...... no muslims will be found in Heaven.....

Actually the book of Revelation gives considerable information regarding the END DAYS but, and this is only my best guess, no one has ever been to hell or heaven and come back to describe either.

While some use Dante for describing hell, you must remember it was fiction, though quite well written.

I am sure there are those who would speak with authority about this, but I am equally sure that none have any personal experience to draw from, only conjecture.

There are concepts that the human mind cannot comprehend. Perhaps we can apprehend that there will be an afterlife with rewards and judgements for how we lived in this life.
God's nature and how he relates to man are a mystery. He asks for our obedience, and our trust when it comes to our eternity (another concept we can't comprehend). After all, isn't that what faith is all about, our looking forward in hope for what we can not see?
In Christianity, God has given us enough information in his word, as well as signs that proved his son, Jesus Christ was telling us the truth about our present state and our eternity.

Because Christianity is a message of God's love for us, not our judgement.

IT DOES! And even to a great extent. It even gives measurements and everything. Read the New Testament.
