Well technically they say it isn't Jesus punishing you, it's GOD, bt being that I have very little belief in both them and the Bible, I love whoever I want because it makes me happy and I am myself, GAY! If I had to go back to how I was living (in a "straight"-shell behind behind a mask, putting on an act afraid to be who I really was) then I would just not want to live at all. Why be someone you're not?

Divine Love Is Also Conditional
While divine love can be called perfect, infinite, enduring, and universal, it cannot correctly be characterized as unconditional. The word does not appear in the scriptures. On the other hand, many verses affirm that the higher levels of love the Father and the Son feel for each of us—and certain divine blessings stemming from that love—are conditional.
"If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love" (John 15:10).
John 14:
21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him,

Punishment can occur under unconditional love, but eternal torment cannot.

became into it the Jews or the Romans? remember, whilst those texts have been written, the very earliest Christians have been attempting to get Jews to desert their classic practices for information ones. They have been very keen to declare fairly lots something to make that take place. it may be blasphemy in Judaism for somebody to declare that he became into equivalent to G-d. yet crucifixion became right into a Roman punishment, no longer a Jewish one, and the difficulty became into very probable far greater political than non secular. or perhaps what we 'be attentive to' is all particularly some propaganda positioned forward via desperate human beings attempting to shield the execution of their chief as a criminal.

How do you get the concept of unconditional love from the scripture? Verse please?
However in answer to your question. God the Father so loved the world that he gave us Yahshua His only begotten son to pay the penalty for our sins if only we repent and believe in Him. To believe in not simply to say I believe but it means that you sacrifice yourself to him and live before him as perfect as you can always overcoming and growing in grace and knowledge.
That sounds conditional but he did love us first and provided the way.
True love will not allow another to suffer for eternity (thats right folks sinners die the second death they don't sizzle in torment for eternity) Rev.
Sin causes suffering. Therefore in love unrepentant sinners will be destroyed.

Who says it is unconditional? Not the Bible. You have to believe to receive Him and His love and that is a condition.

No kidding. Parents may punish their children for misbehaving but that's a far cry from burning them eternally because they didn't believe what you wanted them to.
And aren't we glad that isn't something they want to carry into reality?

well Jesus loves you without taking into account your terrible condition as a sinner before him.. He still loves you and died on the cross for you.. That is unconditional love..
The condition of salvation is that you have to accept his testament of pact or agreement to recieve salvation. What you don't have to do is try to clean up your life, he will do that when you ask him to take over.. And believe me, he will take over if you ask him to..
If you don't they you are free to go to hell, if you like..

I think the way it goes is that while God loves you, he still has to punish you for being a naughty unbeliever. Kinda they way a parent punishes their kid for getting an F... just way more extreme.

Ever heard of the Prodigal Son? It's your choice. You can either come home or stay in the pig pen eating scraps. Up to you. The Father demonstrated his unconditional love when the son chose to come home.
Cheers :-)
