Spend what you can afford

It depends on what you can afford, if you will attend the wedding, how close you are to the bride/groom and if you are bringing a guest or not. Remember that they are laying down a decent chunk of change for you to attend (generally $50-$150 pp) so if you are decently well off and bringing a guest a $25 gift may look a bit cheap (and inconsiderate). On the other hand, if you are a struggling student they obviously won'y expect much. $100 tends to be about average nowadays for family.

depends how close I am to the relative. on average about $100. If I'm really close to the person then I'd say about at least $200. I would also base the amount on how much effort went into the planning of the wedding.

I had a low-key wedding ceremony very last summer season, and the perfect volume gave the impression to be about $30-$40, with close kinfolk contributors both giving a higher volume or helping with dissimilar the marriage issues (like determining to purchase nutrition, or arranging for tables to be presented in). in the experience that they have been residing mutually for a lengthy time period now, then they have in all probability were given all the kinfolk contributors issues they favor, so there is not any favor to purchase a common present, yet $50 stuck interior of a effective card can be a great, beneficiant present for someone it really is an intensive buddy. EDIT--I trust the positioned up above me- the position i'm positioned at (a extra rural part of southeastern Indiana) giving $one hundred and up at a wedding ceremony might want to be loopy until eventually you're, like she stated, loaded. i develop into shocked to get $50 from my travelers, exceptionally because it develop into very small, and that i did not sign up in any respect. My money presents ranged from $15 to $one hundred (from my grandparents), and that i received a number of present playing cards ranging in fee from $20 to $50. I received some presents (the homestead equipment i discussed above, 2 candelholders, and some image frames, all from diverse human beings). some travelers left signed playing cards (without present protected), and some travelers did not even go away that. I wasn't shocked in any respect through the small (or lack of) presents, yet i develop into VERY shocked when I opened playing cards that held $50 and up. perchance those different posters are all from cities, or soemthing...

You really just go on what you can afford. With family, we tend to go for a special gift, so the price is irrelevant (let's say to 100). If it's 70, great! If it's on sale for 50, fine!
Sometimes family members chip in, as well, to get a larger gift.

depends on what i can afford. and what relation they have to me. for relatives aunts cousins i dont consider spending very much at all if anything. I gave my cousin 30 dollars last november for his wedding and was fine with it since i used a cheque from a credit card i had 50 dollars left on. he is an engineerer and has $$ so if he wants to take offence to my cheap contribution i dont care cause i was broke.
