I'll tell you something else: in all the things that have been written about me, there's something that's been left out of the tellin'. I'm a smoker. There, I said it. Hardly anyone outside my family knows that, and it embarrasses me because it's an addiction I can't be quit of, though I try every day. They say Jackie Kennedy was a chain smoker, but she would never allow herself to be photographed with a cigarette -- and I get that real well because I also try my damndest to see that no one takes my picture with one. I love my fans so much and I hate to disappoint them; to see me with such a weakness will surely upset them. I still need to walk into a room where they're waiting with my head up.

You know why is it necessary to judge her one way or the other? Paula Deen could probably put you to shame with all the money she has made doing her tv shows and cookbooks alone. And remember she does own and run a resturant.
Even if she does smoke, would that be such a crime. You know when people get upset they use different vices to stabilize there well being. Paula used cigarettes. She didn't drive drunk and cause a deadly crash. She didn't to out and do drugs or try to sell drugs for money. She actually worked for it. And to think all she needed to do so was a cigarette.
This world has totally become discrimatory to the people who live in it. Ok so smoking is not good for you. But it was good to someone who worked for the tobacco companies and made a living doing so. It also was good for the store owners who sold the product and brought people into there store and made them more business by doing so.
What about all of you who judge the smoker.... What have you done to help the economy of our nation???? But you continue to judge us smokers.....
We still go to work everyday and still buy all of your products. And most of us have to decency not the smoke around you if you do not smoke. What have you done for us???
If it wasn't for Paula Deen you would all find someone else to ***** ABOUT.....

It is correct. She has said in interviews that she's trying to cut down, but will never quit.
She started when she was in a horribly abusive marriage and it just escalated from stress. So after her divorce she's addicted and just doesn't WANT to quit.
I still like her.

Hmmm, you may have a point. I never thought about it. It always amazes me when someone is heavy AND smokes. You would think it would be one or the other.
