No.

Because we cannot do anything close to what would really be required to stop it. The best we can do is make the best use of the resources we have in the most responsible manner possible. That includes conserving oil because oil will run out some day and we do not yet have a workable substitute for it. But the market place will do that. When oil starts to run low, the price will go up, and if gasoline gets expensive enough, people will buy smaller cars. And if electricity gets expensive enough, people will buy solar panels.

No, because what the heck will switching out our beautiful incandescent light bulbs with icky flourescent ones do to dramatically impact this enormous earth of ours? I think that radical leftist greens and wacked-out politicians like Al Gore are simply trying to make us think that it is our responsibility by telling us that we're killing the earth, but guess what? WE'RE NOT!!!! The effects of ratifying treaties like Kyoto will make us poor and take away our freedoms, as well as stopping the "African dream," in other words, developing and becoming free from poverty like we are. But if we force them to use expensive energy sources like solar and nuclear power, just because it's the "responsibility of every citizen on planet earth," then how will they do that? It strikes me as extremely immoral an unjust to the third world countries to do something like that. No. Sorry, I'm sort of rambling, but my answer to your question is No.
