Are you trying to think of a creative way? Are you guys not very close and now you want him in your life and to walk you down the aisle? Give us more info!!!
If you want a creative way you can some how get the "here comes the bride" song and have it set up to play when he is around and grab his arm and walk with him and then say, "On June 16th will you please be the one that gives me away in marriage to John."

A little more info would be needed here. Are the two of you not speaking? Does he live in another country? Just ask him. I would think he would want to anyway since it is customary. If he does not want to, explain to him how important it is to you and I would think he would agree to. Good luck! :)

That's a normal thing, you shouldn't even have to ask. As long as you have a good relationship, and he knows about the wedding.
