I am a stylist and I have helped several clients grow their hair back without using weaves and wigs who have not only had slow growing & damaged hair, but who have also suffered from hair loss.
Tip # 1: I suggest you get on a long hair plan. Eat a high protein diet, drink water, and stay away from hair coloring, junk food, and chemicals. Most importantly, buy the best all-natural hair growth product you can find. The best one that I have found that works for all hair types, and on all my clients, is A Double Portion Super Hair Growth Shampoo and Conditioner. It has aloe vera, rosemary, neem, and a host of other goodies for your hair that make it grow long and fast and stay strong and healthy. Your hair will no longer break, shed or be unruly and unmanageable. It will even make your relaxers, if you relax, less frequent. Compared to other hair growth and natural products, including Nioxin, Dr. Miracles, and Wild Growth Oil, this works faster and better. Plus, it is better for your hair. You can get them both online at wwwdiscoverb4acom. These both are hair growth miracle workers and are all-natural. No damaging chemicals, hormones, or surfactants like most commercial shampoos. Just to let you know, you should stay away from these. Just because something says Dr. Miracles super hair growth oil doesn’t mean it contains things that actually stimulate hair growth. Trust me, you need to read the ingredients and not just the title of a product. For healthy hair growth to occur, avoid products that contain even the slightest amount of synthetic emulsifiers and harsh detergents, such as Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate, Phosphates, Dimethicone, and Sodium Lauryl Sulfate. These products are loaded with toxins and chemicals that dry and strip your hair of everything it needs to grow. However, most of my clients that used A Double Portion had 1 to 2 inches of growth every month.
Tip # 2: Do conditioning pre-wash treatments to your hair before shampooing it. Simply whip up 2 tablespoons of Mayonnaise, 1 teaspoon of lemon juice, and 1 egg. Let it remain on your hair for at least an hour. It will tame and soften your hair, strengthen your roots and strands, and reduce your need for any chemicals or heat on your hair. Do this 2-3 times a week. If you have a hair bonnet dryer, sit under it for 30 minutes with this on your hair. It will tame and soften your new growth. Try this 2-3 times a week.
If you don’t buy A Double Portion Super Hair Growth Shampoo, make sure you do your pre-treatment. And don’t get your haircut, unless it is extremely damaged. If your hair is splitting just get a minor trim, all you need is ¼ inch trim.
Tip # 3: Eat a protein rich diet, full of eggs, beans, cheese, and fish. Drink plenty of water and take a multivitamin and B Complex.
Tip # 4: Lay off heat and chemicals as much as possible.
Tip # 5: Purchase a high quality plastic comb or styling tool. Do not purchase anything with ridges or grooves between each slot for combing. Feel it before you buy it.

Joico K-Pak shampoo & conditioner are excellent for damaged hair. Some salon provide the deep conditioning treatment which is excellant. Or find a salon that offers L'Oreal Series Expert Power Dose Treatments these are alos excellant. This aslo has an at home shampoo, conditioner and a mask. When buying professional products make sure that you buy them from a salon cuz otherwise you can not be certain that whats in the bottle is the actual products.
To help with the grow of your hair you can Nioxin Recharging Complex Vitamins. They provide healthy growth of the hair, skin and nails. The whole Nioxon system works wonders.
I use all of these products on my clients and myself
Best of Luck!!!

Try tigi products. Preferabbly Cat walk will probably work best. Its what I use after I dye my hair to help keep it healthy. You can also use Bed Head. They both have great products that help with damaged hair. However, they are a bit expensive, but completely worth it! You can get these products at any salon, or drug store. They are pretty much the same price wherever you chose to go.

ok...i ave heard this but im not sure if its correct: the more ofetn you cut your hair, the faster it grows. get hair cuts ocaccionally.
also, it depends on the hair to see which brnd will help damanged hair. if your hair is curley, try using curly shampoo and conditionar, same brands, such as pantine. if your hair is straight, use straight hair shampoos and such. i prefer seek.look which makes your hair soft, but pantine is good if you want more density for your hair. it also makes your hair silky. also, on some monings, try wetting your hair or take a shower, then putting some moose and/or leave in conditioner that helps w/ frizzyness. dry your hair, starting from underneath, and use a comb untilmostly dry, then start styling with a round brush that doesnt go all the way through your hair. doent do this everyday b/c it could make your hair even worse and isnt healthy to dry ur hair w/ a hair dryer everyday, but it will hepl your hair and create new looks that is in style.

If your hair tend to be dry or processed try a natural hair oil. I use nairobi because I process my hair and it tends to dry easily. I also wrap my hair at night with a satin scarf because the cotton pillow cases usually dry hair out more. Don't bother with all those expensive hair products that you see at the stores. Good shampooing and conditioning at least 1 a week and trimming every 2 months is good also. To obtain new healthy hair growth try vitamins also.

regular trimming will help the hair grow. With healthy hair only trim about half an inch, but if your hair is really damaged, it is usually best to cut your hair where the damage starts. Matrix is a good product, but it is expensive, for the lower budget Sunsilk works great.
Good luck!

professional products are best especially for damaged hair. I don't recommend store bought products. U need to get ur hair trimmed every 4 to 6 weeks to keep it healthy and for it to grow.

Eat nutritious foods with balanced proteins and adequate vitamins. Do *not* overdose on vitamins. That can make hair fall out.
Don't continue damaging the new hair growth.
If you must trim, use *sharp* scissors. Dull scissors will make healthy hair split.
Coddle your hair, pamper it, be kind to it. Don't tug on it to make it break or pull it out by its roots.
Products good for damaged hair: distilled water, Extra Virgin Olive Oil.

Joico K-Pak shampoo & conditioner are excellent for damaged hair. The conditioner can be used every day or as a deep conditioning mask.
A drop of jojoba oil massaged onto your scalp and run through your hair makes an excellent conditioning treatment.
Some people take pre-natal vitamins to encourage growth of healthy hair & nails.
Use a super absorobent hair towel to minimize drying time.
