I met with the person who hit my car and I got all his information and he reported it to his company and now I'm going to call them.Thank you all for helping me with my problem, next time I will let the police handle any other accident instead of trying to let the other person fix the damages they did without calling the police.
Thank you

If he disputes what happend, it's your word agains his. Always get a police report unless the damage is so slight you're not bothering or fixing yourself

If there is no injury, typically a police report is not mandatory. Injury or death eliminates that option.
If there is no injury, either party to the accident can request one but both parties do not have to remain at the scene once the information is exchanged. As long as the other driver provides you with license and insurance info that is all you can expect.
The other company may ASK for a police report .. you just need to respond that YOU did not have one made, did their client?
At least he gave you a real name and insurance.. you are in good shape for now.
A suggestion (Monday morning quarterbacking). Even if you do NOT have the PD do a report. Use your cell phone and take photos of the accident (or keep a disposable camera in the glove compartment for that). Be sure to get photos of the license plates and the other driver.. You may never need them but you never know.
Good luck...

I assume it was a public street?. The problem is that you may want to get that arrangement in writing, even an email will work detailing the agreement. It probably is too late for a police report. But find out soon about the dollar amount of the damages so that way you can call your insurance if that's the way you go and let them know what happened. Good luck.

you should always get a police report no matter how minor the accident. what if he decides not to pay for it then your out without that police report. the insurace company will ask you what happened at the time of the accident. they will need all that info from his license plate to his policy number name and address. they will even ask the make of his car. thats why its good to have that report as it states all that on the report.

it really is prohibited now to not replace coverage training after an twist of destiny. i imagine it really is dealt with the same way as a fulfillment and run. once you've the plate volume that made the interest for the police a lot extra elementary.
