Since your hair is so long, I would not suggest cutting it.
Braids work very well and there are so many styles you can do: French, Dutch, 4 strand and so on. You could put it in a bun or wear it a la Gibson Girl. There is so much you can do with it.
As to your highlights, let them grow out. Dyeing is hard on longer hair.

You should start by cutting off a few inches (7in. is enough to donate to Locks of Love, many salons will send it for you). Adding long layers is a good way to do something new...keep them long at first this way if you don't like them it will be easier to grow out. then if you do like the long layers at your next appt. add some shorter layers. Another thing you can try is a slight face frame or a long side-swept bang. Color is an easy way to make a simple change and remember color can always be changed if you don't like the way it comes out. Good luck .

to start off, i had the same problem. i got bored of the same split ends and no volume everyday. i decided to chop it ALL off and maybe give it a boost.

personally i think you should cut it, and then put it into some cute layers at about shoulder length. -allie

cut it in layers and put some fresh red high-lights. Put just a little body with brush and hair-dryer.

Well red is nice, but if you´re blonde why don´t you dye it Black for a change,I think it would look nice on you.
Purple is also cool on women in my opinion.
