I've been eating low carb for the better part of the past 15 years. I probably consume less than 35% of my daily calories from carbohydrates.

I am currently following the Atkins Nutrional Approach (it's not a diet, per se--you follow it forever), and it is very healthy--for me. If you are looking for a way to lose a lot of weight, it is a great way to do so, and a great way to keep it off. If you are diabetic, low-carb is PERFECT for you. If you are an athlete or if you already have a low body fat percentage, the stricter phases (1 & maybe 2 for Atkins) may not be for you, although cutting out sugar, flour, potatoes, etc, is good for *everyone*, such as the less-strict phases (maybe 2 & 3 & 4 for Atkins). If you decide to follow one of the many low-carb approaches, I suggest visiting http://www.lowcarbfriends.com to find recipe ideas & support--it is invaluable!

I started a healthy low carb lifestyle in may of 2003. I have lost 90 lbs, and kept it off eating healthy. I don't think any one should do a "no carb" diet. Healthy veggies and fruit are good for you!!! George Stella at StellaStyle.com was my inspiration. and you eat gourmet!!!!

i tried this but it made me feel awful! i had no energy at all, i was very cranky and the food was just gross. i would recommend counting calories and cutting down on the carbs. don't eat after dinner. i think this works much better and makes you feel better
