Easy Chicken or Turkey Divan is a favorite around here:

Cook a package of frozen broccoli spears according to the package directions. At the same time, prepare three cups of instant rice as per package instructions.

Place the rice in the bottom of a large casserole dish and top with the broccoli. Place slices of cooked chicken or turkey breast on top of the broccoli. (You can use deli meat, left-overs, or fresh-cooked chicken or turkey breast.)

Pour about a cup of your favorite cheese sauce or Hollandaise sauce over the chicken. (Again, use homemade, canned, or prepared from a package.)
Bake at 350 degrees until the sauce is bubbly and the casserole is heated through -- about 25 minutes.

With the addition of some fruit or fruit salad and breadsticks, you have a complete meal.

Steak and Kidney Stew.

Fry some onions off, and add some garlic.Remove and brown the diced Stewing steak or Gravy beef in batches to get some colour on them.
Do the same with the Kidneys and remove from pan.
De-glaze the pan with a little stock and return steak, kidney and onion to pan and add a spoon of flour and mix thoroughly.
Pour in sufficient stock to cover meat, put on the back element, on low heat so it is only just bubbling.
Leave it for about an hour, but check from time to time to add more stock if needed and stir.
In the last 15 minutes taste and add seasonings Salt Pepper Tomato Sauce and Worcestershire sauce to taste.

If you omit the flour stage and add more water or stock, there will be enough liquid at the end to cook your favourite vegetables.
If your pot is large enough you could add your spuds as well.

Husbands delight casserole is the best. Kinda tastes like homemade lasgna but doesnt take as much work and is a little cheaper. Uses hambureger and egg noodles and other items that you probably have on hand. If you will email me @ thumpergirl_1979@yahoo.com I will send you the recipe it is too long to put on here, lol. Anyone else that wants to ask for it Im willing to share

Pork chop casserole. Slice some potatoes thin and put them in the bottom of your casserole dish, then cover with milk. Not a lot of milk, just enough. Then, layer your pork chops on top. Add a little salt and pepper. Then top with your favorite stuffing. (I use stove top stuffing mix). Cover and bake at 350 degrees for about an hour.

For us, that is comfort food, specially on a winters night.

It has to be my grandma's goulash. I have a recipe that's really close and I love it. It's some veggies, canned soups, ground beef and mac, and cheese and green olives.

My other fave is a taco casserole I made up from a bunch of other recipes. It's a lot of canned goods and ziti and cheese and olives and such.

Email me for any them!
