YUK! Send the fly and the bag of poppadums back to Pataks with a letter of complaint. You'll definitely get a letter back with a voucher, if you dare buy another Pataks product that is!!

I've bought Patak's chutneys for years. Never had any problems.
Read the small print - Patak is based in Wigan. And believe me, in Wigan one fly doesn't start a revolution.

Mmmmm.....that`s nasty. definately complain, or contact environmental health.
I can beat that though, last year I bought a cream cake from the fresh counter in Sainsbury`s. When I went to eat it I found a piece of fingernail in the cream.....disgusting. Shortly after, once again at Sainsbury`s, I found a Quality Street foil wrapper baked inside some caramel slices.
Who knows what goes on in some factories, it`s disgraceful.

Extra protein, to be serious, take it back to the shop that you got it from,or inform Patak's the will reimberse you and replace the product, if not more, the last thing that they want is for you to report them to public health. I have had lots of their products and had no problems!

yuk their raita is lovely. i remember about 10 years ago a pregnant woman was eating their mango chutney (vegetarian) and found some meat which turned out to be rat. i don't know if that is an urban myth but i remember it being in the newspapers - sounds like they need to overhaul the hygiene in their factory.

Unfortunately that can happen to any food producer, nothing's perfect. Still disgusting though. Pity it wasn't on top, then you wouldn't have had to eat them before you saw it!
