Take him to a different vet. Ear mites don't cause those kind of symptoms!

If you don't have the cash, use a credit card. Unfortunately we can go into debt taking care of our pets, but when we brought them into our homes we took on the responsibility of caring for them. You wouldn't let your child suffer with that kind of illness and not get treatment. Please don't do that to an innocent animal.

Oh poor sweet baby. Chicken baby food is nice. Just make sure it doesn't have any garlic or onions in it (toxic to cats). Beechnut is good. Salmon out of a can is great (I eat it myself). There's only one bone running through the middle but it's easily picked out in one, or a few, pieces. Fancy Feast in Liver and Chicken flavor was always preferred by my cats and it's soft. They also have a new gourmet variety - just don't get the shredded kind - too hard. And they're not on the pet food recall list. My best wishes to your wonderful sweet cat and to you for adopting your rescued baby.

Kitty has an ear infection and it has progressed. See if you can get people you know to donate money to take him back to the vet. Maybe the vet can work out a trade for his services or let you pay on time, bit by bit. Maybe you can help clean cages in return for care for kitty.

Did your vet give you drops to put in his ears afterwards and instruct you to clean his ears out? He should have. At least, that's what my vet did when she found out our kittens had been born wild and in a flea-infested area.

I find it interesting that your kitty tends to lean over on his left side. You may want to take him back to the vet- or to a different one. Lay your cards out on the table and tell him of your financial situation: Many will try to work out a payment plan with you. Also inquire at your local Humane Society or SPCA for help with paying for your kitty's care. I hesitate to propose any home remedies, and your kitty could have an inner ear problem.

Good luck!

Call the vet back and explain that the cat is not better. He could have a fungal infection also, but he needs vet care now.(remember when you had an ear ache? oooouch!) Hurry, don't delay.
