I find that some mousse's and gels dry it out and, make it hard and wiry looking. I, myself like the smoothing milk's that you can get in the hair products sections. My hair is natural curly but I use the straightening products and they seem no to weight my hair down so much. I tell everyone I put lotions on my hair just like my skin.. Overall I find the hair lotion type products works best on my hair here in the south where the humidity is high. If you are trying to straighten your hair use the Frizz-EZ products they are good but you cannot just dry it you will have to use a big barrell curling wand or ceramic straightener to help smooth the hair folicules.. I have lived 45 years with this hair and I still look for new things to help control the frizziness on the high humidity days.. The trick is once it is fixed and dried do not brush it or here comes the frizz..

Da Friz is a serious condition that affects hundreds of Americans across the nation. Did your Doctor actually diagnose you, or are you just assuming that you have Da Friz? The best thing for you to do is use Pert. Sure, it will strip your hair of all nutrients and might cause it to fall out in patches, but your hair will be so greasy and disgusting that it wont be able to friz. Good Luck. May the Friz not be wit you

Well for one you should stop washing it every day, that's just drying it out more. Make sure to use a deep conditioner, maybe even a leave in or a hair mask. I would also recommend getting a relaxer, either the at home kit or done at a salon. If you're going to do it at home I would strongly suggest finding someone who has done it before to do it for you (it's really not difficult, much like the hair dye application).

You could also try buying/using a flat iron (a straightener) along with hair grease (usually green in a small container) or some form of pomade for shine.

Good luck!

If you can go without washing your hair everyday that may help....it also depends on what product you are using.....you do want to use a hydrating or defrizzing product. I am a stylist and really like KMS or Wella products....sometimes with washing your hair everyday you are are actually doing your hair more damage....the cuticle gets blown out too much and with washing your hair everyday....it's actually making it worse. Also try some sort of a heat protector. IE. Chi Silk Infusion. You need less than a dime size depending on the length and thickness of your hair. what this Will do is protect it from the heat and help smooth the cuticle...even if you don't blow dry it! Hope this helps!

1) When you're in the shower and put the conditioner on your hair, run a wide-toothed comb through to distribute the conditioner.

2) Comb out your hair (gently) after towel-drying.

3) Apply some kind of anti-frizz serum or mousse, or whatever styling product you like.

4) Let your hair air-dry and try not to touch it before it's dry--don't brush or comb it, don't run your fingers through it, anything!

*Sleek Look shampoo and conditioner work REALLY WELL on frizzy hair; you have to use it for a few days to see the effect. http://www.matrix.com/products/sleek_look/smoothing_shampoo.aspx

When I lived in Oregon, a very humid place, I started using Sleek Look and it actually changed the texture of my hair! It made it softer and smoother. It comes in an orange bottle and you can buy it at salons or beauty supply stores.

**A good straightening iron does wonders but you don't want to do it every day. Works best on completely dry hair the day after you wash it. I have a CHI. Worth the bucks!

I have curly hair too, and what I do to get rid of the frizz is....

When my hair is wet, put in a leave in conditioner.
Then comb though hair.
then I use a sticky cream.
I take small sections of my hair and twist them with my finger, while making sure that my hair doesn't dry.
After my hair is all twisted, then I take a blowdryer to my hair.
When my hair is all dry then I flip my head upside down with care and hairspray it. The curls should stay in all day. It looks good and eliminates the frizz.

Dont wash it everyday, you are stripping away oils your hair needs to be shiny...dont wash it more than two or three times a week, I know it sounds gross but the problem is you are washing away necessary oils in your hair...if you mant to freshen your hair each day without drying it out, try using conditioner instead of shampoo on the days that you do not wash it...another thing is to buy cholesterol for your hair, it comes in a tub and is sold at dollar stores, walmart, etc.You can also use olive oil right out of the bottle Put it in your wet hair for 10 minutes then rinse, for better results use a dryer on your hair to help it stick to your hair, after about 5 minutes you can rinse, hope that helps & God Bless

Don't give up the faith. Although your hair may be somewhat frizzy, there are some simple things you can do to revive its healthiness. Be patient and follow the tips below to see results.

Tip #1: Treat your hair to a treat. This will fix your frizzy ends, smooth your strands, soften your hair, and give you stronger hair.
Try giving your hair and scalp a homemade hot oil treatment and protein treatment at least once a week. Here's some great recipes:

Protein Treatment:
Apply 3 tablespoons of mayo, 1 egg, and 1 tablespoon of honey to your hair. Let it sit on your hair for 30 minutes. Rinse with a all-natural shampoo and 1 teaspoon of baking soda.

Hot Oil Treatment:
Warm for 15-30 seconds in the microwave 1/2 cup of olive oil or coconut oil or carrot oil. All 3 are great for cleansing, nourishing, and repairing the hair follicles and strands. Let this sit on your hair for 15-30 mnutes and then follow with a all-natural shampoo wash. Mix all 3 and apply a warm towel to your head for a real treat.

Tip #3: Only use all-natural hair products
Unnatural hair care products are a no-no for someone who wants long-lasting, healthy hair growth. Find a hair growth product that contains essential oils, natural herbs, and vitamin rich nutrients your hair needs to survive. Look for products with ingredients such as: Aloe Vera, Citrus Fruits, Jojoba, Vitamin E, Coconut Oil, Grape Seed, Honey, and Amino Acids, and Ylang Ylang. Although there are several natural hair care products on the market, make sure you read the ingredient list. Most “natural” and drugstore hair products still contain phosphates, sodium lauryl sulfate, petroleum, mineral oil, and other lab created humectants that ultimately damage your hair. Damaged hair equals split hair.

I use GodHead Frizzy-B-Gone and Silky Smooth Conditioner on my clients with dry, damaged, color-treated, or splitting hair. It is a great restorative treatment combo. It makes the ends soft and supple and your hair shiny, healthy, bouncy, and smooth. The base ingredient in both products is Aloe Vera, a hair and skin natural healer, and natural oils, like jojoba, coconut, and grape seed. I see an improvement in the condition of my clients hair after two uses. Maybe you can find them at a salon near you or skip the upcharge and buy them online at wwwdiscoverb4acom.

It's probably best if you don't wash your hair everyday. Washing it everyday promotes the frizzyness because your hair needs the natural oils it provides.
So really, what you should do is keep your hair unwashed for a little while and comb through it to spread the oils. Also, there are products that help.

you need to use redken shampoo & seperate conditioner, you need the smooth one.
It will smooth some of the frizz there is also a weekly mask that will help to.
