Blog is short for weblog. A weblog is an online journal. You can share your blogs with your friends or anyone, or you can make them private so only you can read it. There are different types of blogs too. You have personal blogs for the person who just wants to rant about their day, and you also have politcal blogs (but I think we call them something else) and those are when people are upset about something involving politics so they rant about political issues. There are a few others, but of course you can have a blog that is a combination of all types of blogs- write about whatever you feel like.

A blog is pretty much a journal that you put online so that other people can see what you have been doing. Many people keep them so that friends and family that don't live near can still have a sense of what is going on in their life. Other people use blogs to write out their opinions on subjects and to get advise/debates going.

Blog is short for weblog. A weblog is a journal (or newsletter) that is frequently updated and intended for general public consumption. Blogs generally represent the personality of the author or the Web site. If it is website, it displays in chronological order the postings by one or more individuals and usually has links to comments on specific postings
Blogs often provide commentary or news on a particular subject, such as food, politics, or local news; some function as more personal online diaries. A typical blog combines text, images, and links to other blogs, web pages, and other media related to its topic. Most blogs are primarily textual although many focus on photograph (photoblog), videos (vlog), or audio (podcasting).
Why don't you start at www.neigo.com, try it out online. This has very user friendly interface. It’s simple but also very useful. Nice interacting tool that allow you share your thought with your online friends. Also you can insert as many as pictures you like from your photo album

Also they ping search engine and make RSS feed for your blog when you post it so that people can find your blog online. If you set your album or post as private, other user can not see your album's images or post unless you allow them to see it. Best of all, the message and feedback feature allow you to contact your friend or other user directly easily. Also you can set your post as draft only for you to read. It's a personal website journal, usually, where you can rant or discuss art, music, or whatever you feel you want to discuss.
You can add pictures and music and sometimes videos, and make it either private, available only to some, or open to the public. Most people use it as a day to day diary or opinions, while others use it to inform. I use it for a novel I want opinions on.
