The USA and Britain didn't want to go to war in World War 2. Many Nations didn't want to go to war in World War 2. Hitler counted on the liberals reluctance for war to gain world dominance.
History has a way of repeating itself.
No one likes war. Sometimes it's necessary to protect innocent lives.

Yeah, me to. But there are wars ahead of us, if you believe the Bible the way I do.
I see the current fighting that is going on as being the precursor to the events that are supposed to happen. It would appear that this "Antichrist" will begin to police his own area, leaving the need for nations foreign to that area to return home. He will be well liked by the world, apparently.
So I think that will happen after Iran goes down. Perhaps the current troop surge by the US will accomplish that.

It is not about liking it it is the way things are done. History is full of wars it is the nature of man. Acceptance is necessary but support of the defenders is far more important. Soldiers fight so you don't have to.

Of course, there are a very small percentage of people that actually like war. But many times there is no choice.

It sucks at first, but once you get past the initial shell-shock and get used to seeing death and violence on a daily basis, you adapt and function. You learn to survive. Most people (military) actually come to a point in a deployment during war that they can't imagine going home, and that thought of home actually becomes the enemy, because you have to stay focused in the mix of action. This facilitates PTSD once you re-deploy.

I do not like war and bloodshed at all. Unfortunately the human race has a certain amount of stubbornness in which compromise becomes a last resort and not a first.

I'm not particularly fond of it, but sadly, wars of defense are sometimes required.
Sucks being human, huh?
