We haven't actually finished anything and have actually made it so that they are even more dependent of us then before . Iraq would finally burst into a complete civil war and the death toll would rise higher than it had when we were not there . The Shiites will remain basically in complete control of the government and the Sunnis will try to regain that control . Most people that can will move out of the region and eventually Syria and Iran will partake in creating an even more sectarian field . Though i don't believe that the insurgents will be strong enough, after how al-qaida has been dispersed, to attack us . Also the Kurds might decide to separate .
oh and the idea that we will leave by march 2008 is absurd and is only being presented because that is what people want to see , not because it's a plausible choice . The truth is that in order to get out of Iraq you need to at least make it so that the different groups are actually represented which there is little hope since the last time the Iraqis were forming their government the Sunnis did not partake because they believed that boycotting it would be better for them .

1) There will be a lulling peace....a very eerie quite that will not be all over the televisions, just to make us think that we were right in doing this. Then the terrorists would go all political and start trying to infilitrate the gov't through the 'back door'. This will more than likely resort in bloodshed like everything else when you are dealing wiht irrational Muslims. This will then lead to a great fight between the Shiites and everyone else. Civil War. Saudi Arabia.
2) Iraqis will be more pissed than ever at the American people/military.It says 'hey, these guys can start a fight, but not finish it? BS! LETS BURN SOMETHING!'
3) ABSOLUTELY NOT! Not in the slightest bit. How could it? By sweeping a problem under a rug does not do away with the problem.

The people of Iraq are one people, they have secular differences, but they are all Iraqi's.They are tolerating outsiders now, terrorists,we call them,to fight a common enemy. That invader is us,we are the invaders, the terrorists to them, the occupiers.Sorry to say the people of the Middle East prefer a strong man in charge, someone to give them a sense of security. The one they had was very rough, they could do better. The strongest group will probably win, their will be bloodshed,as their is now, civil war,a struggle for dominance. We have given them this turmoil,we went in their, broke it down, and now it must come together again, and it will, their way.The people of Iraq will come together,it will take time, and they will drive foreign fighters out.We can help them the most by getting out,our delay is adding more turmoil to their struggle. We have to treat the World, all the Countries with more respect, our bad attitude and force full manner of late has empowered these terrorists. If we were more respectful maybe the rest of the World would join us in eradicating terror all over the Globe.

The Iraqi troops are trained well enough now, equipped and in nearly high enough numbers to run the country on their own.
About 75% of the country has been pacified for a long time now. The only trouble spots are Baghdad, the Sunni Triangle, and the Diyala province on the Iraq/Iran border.
(The Iraqi army is patrolling parts of the Sunni Triangle ALONE right now, no US assistance at all. I believe in Fellujah, American marines aren't even allowed to enter, and the city is peaceful.)
Just let the generals in field do the assessment. We're almost there. No reason to quit now just because you hear something treasonous on the news.

The same thing that happened in Viet nam when the soldiers left the north took over and the war was over.
they will choose another dictator who will bring about peace in maybe a very violent way. Which we have found out is the only thing these people seem to respond to.
Then we will realize Saddam wasn't as stupid as we thought he was.
Your are saying he tortured people?? isn't that what was happening in abu grave? How is that different?
People were dieing? not nearly as many as has died in the war.
How would this help? If terriorists come to this country say Texas? They will be very sorry. Or New York then before they were not ready for them now they are.
Or California is a real kick butt people. When we went to New Orleans to get the people out we asked and pleaded "you should leave" The California Officers kicked down the door and demanded get out. Everyone left.
So let them come and they may be sorry next time we will be ready for them. They are killing Americans!
They keep saying they will be over here? So, what difference does it make where they kill americans. Foreign soil is better? Most parents would rather die then see there 19 year old son die. Let them come! This time we will be waiting for them.

It will just embolden the terrorist and it would be just a matter of time before we would have to go back and finish the job. G.W. Bush needs to do more in Iraq not less. Same with Iran. Iran's president has promised us virtually everyday he intends to wipe Israel off the face of the map and exterminate the Jews and the west will be next, when he has the power to do so. The middle east was just a matter of time and if not this generation then when? Those people are living a 1000 years in the past. They would slice my throat, your throat and a liberals throat in the blink of an eye. You cant appease or use diplomacy with these people.

Ahh yes, so all the Iraqis want "fredom & democracy" eh?
heh...you guys are funny. Iraqis didn't ask for democracy, but that sure didn't stop us from trying to force it on them.
The region would be exactly the same as it is now: unstable, dangerous, and experiencing civil war.
Whether we leave tomorrow or stay another 4 years, the outcome will be the same.

I think the U.S. should keep troops nearby Baghdad for extra support but leave the policing to the new Iraqi government. They'll handle the insurgents themselves in ways we're not allowed. I think this would be best because it might give the people of Iraq the message that we're there for support and not to occupy.

the individuals of that area of the international have been settling their ameliorations their way for over 3000 years. they could do it now basically to boot. a million. relies upon on the verify of the Iraqi government to make it take place. 2. The peace loving, freedom loving human beings could desire to handle the difficulty of their way. Even a lot of them do no longer want us there so in line with probability they have already figured that out. If no longer, too undesirable that they had their probability and making the incorrect decision is their very own fault. 3. the reason we are so bruitally attacked is that we are seen as infidels on sacred land. as quickly as the infidels are long gone there'll be no could desire to attack.

Remember the Fall of Saigon? Terrorists will swarm over Iraq like ants over a dead grasshopper. Then they'll turn their attention back on us again. And with an open Southern border, it'll be easy.
