No one will pull your hair in a fight. Babies will not pull your hair. You will spend less money and time on shampoo and conditioner. When it is hot outside, your hair won't stick to you. Once upon a time, men adored basically just long, beautiful locks, but nowadays things are changing. Some friends who went from long to short told me they got more attention with their very short locks. You will get lots of attention from everyone because you are different than most of the female population. You don't have to spend time blow drying your hair. Bugs and lice won't have a nice nesting ground. People won't be able to tell if you are going bald or not. It is easier to wear hats. The most major thing is it saves a bundle of time.
I hope you are not trying to be like Britney. Some employers may frown upon this because you are female and they may compare your hair to Britney's meltdown. I know some people who do this for cancer patients which is nice. I feel that the majority of men probably prefer some hair, but there are many more men who have the ability to be attracted to the shaved head in 2007 than in 1907.

Shaved head: save on buying shampoos, gels and mousses, don't have to worry about "bedhead" hair, dandruff, fuzzballs in your hair, split ends, styling. But you have to worry about sunburns and shaving nicks. You also can shave your head at home, saving money from paying and tipping the local barber
Buzz cuts: the opposite with everything above except for the sunburn. and you have to pay for the barber

Buzzed hair can't be gripped in a fight. That's why the military has the buzz cut.

Shaving your head can result in razor burn, just like on your fae or legs! Buzz cut is easier to maintain and you don't have to do it every day!

I'd suggest a buzz first if you haven't done it.
Some people discover they have flat spots or strange bits on their skulls - buzz will grow out faster . . .

The advantages are that your head can be used for so much more now that you shaved your mop. You can use your head to rub your girlfriends cootchie. You can use it to scrub the dishes. You can use it to tie your shoe laces. Whatever you want!
