If you've never read and studied the whole book then you have no right (believer or non believer) to comment on whether its contents are true or not.

Just for your information, I don't claim to be an expert and I certainly didn't corner the market with my beliefs.

I have not read the whole entire Bible from cover to cover. I am not an expert. I am God's child and my intent is to bring others to Jesus. Not to be a expert.

God qualifies the unqualified.

Both the Old and New Testaments condemn the practice of man-stealing which is what happened in Africa in the 19th century. Africans were rounded up by slave-hunters, who sold them to slave-traders, who brought them to the New World to work on plantations and farms. The slavery in the Bible was not based exclusively on race. People were not enslaved because of their nationality or the color of their skin. In Bible times, slavery was more a matter of social status. People sold themselves as slaves when they could not pay their debts or provide for their families. In New Testament times, sometimes doctors, lawyers, and even politicians were slaves of someone else. Some people actually chose to be slaves so as to have all their needs provided for by their masters. Right through to OT to NT the Bible gives instructions on how slaves should be treated Deuteronomy 15:12-15; Ephesians 6:9; Colossians 4:1. Some know that but as stated before some like to slander.

Some of us were raised studying the bible so you have no clue. The Bible is a "good book" but it is not "Holy". At the very least, it has been tampered with. This is not by the God's design but by Satan's. Unless you have the original scriptures, you have a Bible that has been altered.

Why does the Catholic Bible have more Books then the Christian Bible??? Is the Pope a liar??? Are the Christians liars??? In the Bible it says that we should not add to or take away from the Scriptures so either the Christians committed a big sin or the Catholics did.

I do believe in the "Truth" of the Bible but I also know that the Bible have been tampered with.

Hi there,
I have been a disiplined student of the manuscripts for 35 years; in order to do that, I first needed to learn the three Biblical languages to include Hebrew, Greek, and Chaldee; I consider myself a new student, and everyday I learn something that I didn't know yesterday. It is said that once you realize that it will take an eternity to learn all there is in Gods Word, then you've entered into it (eternity).

I am 52 years old. I have read the bible from Genesis to Revelation several times. I have also taken bible courses to further my education in God's Holy Word.
I am also the Sunday school Superintendent.
It is not my natural education that gives me the right to know God's Word. It is the Holy Spirit that gives me the right to know God's Word.

I have. Much of it in the original languages as well. If an MDiv counts as a certification (a BA in Religious Studies as well), then I even qualify for that.

Yet many Christians routinely insult my ability to comment on these texts. Simply because I've left the church.

Is that any better?

One can comment on what they were taught. I as a Catholic am assured that my (The Churches) interpretation on the Bible is the corect one for not only did we canonize the Bible but we can also provide thousands of pages of early christian writings that reaffirm what we teach today. Scripture should not be read in a vacuum it must be read in the light of sacred tradition.

Theocrat- the bible states that we do not have to be certified showing papers to teach God's word. And many have studied the Bible front to back.

Finally someone has the guts to tell like it is.
NO ONE know the bible. Especially the one translated in English, since the Old Testament was first in Hebrew, then translated in Greek, then in Latin, and so forth.
If you take it textually, most people do not understand the meaning of it.
Ex.: God said.....or Jesus said.......etc.....etc... What is the proof what it has been said at time.
Anyone read, write and speak Aramaic in this site????

All Men's interpretation and exaggeration. It was something to talk about it since was nothing else like, TV, radio, newspaper, etc.

Ridiculous. Do you need to read and study Harry Potter to know it is fiction?
