Austin (Stephen Austin), he was Mexican wasn't he? at least for a while he was and he was never stopped by border patrol so he was illegal.

Sounds like a trick question to me.
It's not illegal to be Mexican, for instance, so "illegal mexican" is argueably meaningless.
