"bashing" Christians, etc. Truly, why is it and what drives them to do this? Responses from all Christians and non-Christians are welcome.

Of course you all know I'm not referring to ALL or any percentage in particular of atheists. But to the many who do so.

Truth is atheists are bashing Christians 10 times more than Christians are bashing atheists on this website alone.

Don't take my word for it though you can easily check yourself. So, that being so, let me rephrase the question in the reality of how it is that:

Why is it that many more atheists are constantly attacking Christians than Christians are attacking atheists?

I agree "Dust in the Wind". The answers to the question greatly reflect the true nature and intentions of both the atheists and Christians.

THIS IN ITSELF WAS ACTUALLY WHAT WAS INTENDED IN ORDER TO REVEAL AND GIVE THE TRUE ANSWER TO THE QUESTION.

WHICH IT HAS.

Some is in the pudding I think. What some Christians consider bashing and being hateful is apparently normal for SOME atheists. The atheist will post a list of bashing remarks and it may include scripture, a remark about missing the good things about believing, etc. As Christians it does not matter what anyone says because if we do not "turn our cheek" then we are hypocrites and if we reply we are "stupid".

Because they do not have a faith, they do not realize that bashing what we believe in is the same as bashing us or how much it hurts. And, there seems no cause for it since obviously we only become stronger in our faith. They, in that sense (the atheists) are working FOR God and not against him.

They want to get at you, to get you upset, to make you leave or lose control...don't.

As far as the cross blaming and the constant repeating of questions, I have told everyone before...they (atheists) have books and websites that tell them the things to say and do. One even says, things can become true if you repeat them often enough.

This form (repetition of question, answers, etc.) is called plausible deniability and they learned it from George W and his cohorts.

None of this is addressed to those decent atheists here who wish to actually have meaningful dialogue with others and do not strike out at them. There are many.

I will not even speak to the Muslim (exluding the American Black Muslims) on THIS site, who seem to be here for the purpose of causing trouble for ALL of us and are not at all like any Muslims I know in real life (they would never ever speak the way they do here). The Muslims of the category (wanting to cause trouble) have changed my view of tolerance where they are concerned. So has studying history.

All religions attack one yet another, you're attacking Atheists precise now with what you basically mentioned. i assume i'm Atheist because of the fact I do believe that the bible is previous it incredibly is time. The bible suits the residing of this is day - no longer cutting-area society. this is incredibly unhappy to me that persons stay their lives sin after sin Monday - Saturday then pass to church on Sunday with upchuck on their shirt confess what they did incorrect and walk away with a clean slate. it is likewise unhappy to me that a clergyman refused to baptize a baby because of the fact her father and mom have been 2 gay men. are not you meant to be sort and alluring to all regardless? I even have close acquaintances that are very in contact with their Christian church homes or perhaps are councilors at church camps with youthful young toddlers over the summer season. yet they are additionally getting pants under the effect of alcohol and having intercourse with their boyfriends....are they going to hell? How do you already know? because of the fact some e book advised you that? How do you already know that the bible isn't basically some wad of crap that some wacko wrote...sort of like the mormon bible that became written interior the 1940's... i do no longer think of you're uneducated i think of you're close minded and terrible hypocrites.

Things work both ways. I have seen many places where there was equal bashing from Christians. No one should be so cruel. Everyone has a right to believe what they want. I am glad you are Christian, even though I am not. I hope it is your soul's true faith.

Usually the "bashing" is in response to complete disrespect for another's beliefs. I'm more Agnostic than Athiest, but feel that everyone's beliefs should be respected. I do tend to make jokes out of stupid questions, but mostly I try to educate and increase tolerance. Isn't tolerance what being a "true Christian" is all about?

May I be the first to congratulate you on your wounded martyr tone, and the clever use of the generalisation.
How many times have I read this question?
And you can swap "Christians" and atheists around in it too, for variety.
Why are they constantly attacking them?
Firstly, Are they? Constantly?
Secondly, have you read back a few pages and seen that "Christians" attack atheists, too?
This didn't all erupt shortly before you came in.
You're not so special that all of this suddenly started in your honour.
This is a long, ongoing, and decidly tiresome process.
Welcome to what I'm sure Dante would've gleefully added to his Inferno, as yet another level...

No, I don't know you're referring to it as "not all" when your header question indicates otherwise. I don't have a magic ball to perceive intent. While I've clicked on it to reply, and found your clarification, your header still can cause suffering to some who haven't cultivated a mind free of upset from such things, so I expect you'll get hammered for it.

Christianity is presently engaged in trying to foist it's narrow views of morality on everyone they humanly can. Considering some of those views cause harm and suffering, I'm bound to stand in the way, figuratively or literally, depending on the situation.

Atheists were bashing Christians long before it was the other way around.

Christians should not be bashing atheists.

But out of an atheist, I mean what else would you expect. They do not want to be held accountable to anyone. They want to be their own god, and accountable to themselves.

It's okay though. If it doesn't kill you it will make you stronger.

They have to bash us, otherwise they would spend too much time finding out the truth. Many in society prefer to live a life of being blind, it means their perfect world doesn't have to change. My father is a great example of this.

Its more psychology than religion or non religion. Atheists just normally have the more closed mind so they are more prone to this situation. Cause those who believe, can see past the basic realms of what man deems as normal or logical. Something atheists lack.

I say this not as bashing, but from first hand experience. I use to walk as an atheists for 30 yrs, even stood on the Shroud of Turin as my podium. No matter how much you preached to me, showed me, I was still blind cause I refused to look at it, cause then my world would change, something I didn't want.

Its evident here even. Few minutes ago a guy posted a question that was long and cut and pasted. Something atheists do left and right. Instead of actually reading it, learning something, and seeking the truth (the leading purpose of an atheist), they choose to call the person names, put down fact he cut and paste, etc.

It all boils down to psychology. Take 1 or 2 classes and you will learn so much on how and why people act like they do.

When someone cusses and calls another names. They are actually in disgust with themselves, and are lashing out to make others seem as low as they are. Plus most cussing is just a form of saying " I have no clue what I am talking about, so I will insert cuss words to seem like I am showing feeling so others take what I say as real ".

I just think its funny how people will sit in a classroom, and listen to a stranger who makes 31k a year, if that. Yet won't believe items they read, research or what others tell them. That just makes me laugh and shake my head, on how a human is actually stupid when we deem ourselves as smart.

Because Atheist love themselves, their children, freedom and free will. All men should be able to live life according to his own design with infringement from Christians that think they know best because they believe in a book called the bible that says it is absolute truth.

Show me one time that I have.

Or any of the prominent atheists on this forum.

Give me one example of an incidence when I attacked a Christian and I swear to you I'll go to church on Sunday.
