One question that is often asked of the Bible is, "How do we know it's actually inspired by God"? There are several ways to know it's inspired by God, and not just merely the personal opinions of the 40+ authors who wrote it over about at 1,500 year period. One way is the hundreds of prophecies in the Old and New Testaments that have already come to pass without a single mistake. Another way is the scientific foreknowledge that appears all throughout the Bible. In this case, what we mean by "scientific foreknowledge" is scientific information that was revealed in the Bible long before mankind discovered or verified it through extra-Biblical means. The verses cover a broad range of scientific disciplines. We are gathering this information from several sources, and will add to this list as we have time to.

Why the eighth day? In 1935 Professor H. dam proposed the name "vitamin K" for the factor in foods which helped prevent hemorrhaging in baby chicks. We now know that vitamin K is responsible for the production of prothrombin by the liver. If vitamin K is deficient, there will be a prothrombin deficiency and hemorrhaging may occur, since both vitamin K and prothrombin are necessary for proper blood clotting. Oddly enough, it is only on the 5th through the 7th days of the newborn male's life that vitamin K begins to be produced (the vitamin is normally produced by bacterial action in the intestinal tract). and it is only on day eight that the percentage of prothrombin climbs above 100% of normal! The only day in the entire life of the newborn that the blood clotting element prothrombin is that high is day eight. The best day for surgical procedure like circumcision is therefore day eight. Meteorology

The Jet Stream Ecclesiastes 1:6 935 BC First discovered by airmen during WW II. See more information here. But look here at Intellicast's current graphical representation of the jet stream and you'll see it matches the Bible's description very nicely. Mount Everest, the highest mountain in the world. At its peak it's 29,028 feet. Yet the Jet Stream exists from 32,800 and 164,100 feet. Since airplanes didn't' exist in 935 BC, how was the author of Ecclesiastes able to give such an accurate description of the jet stream? Keep in mind that Ecclesiastes was written AFTER all the upheaval of Noah's flood. It is likely that Mount Everest was not as high in 935 BC as it is today, making it even more unlikely that humans could have used mountains to have discovered the jet stream. This is the most thorough explanation of biblical facts I have seen. Good for you! There is also a book called "Science vs. Evolution" also known as the "Evolution Cruncher" which as the name implies, "crunches" this awful theory of evolution that has destroyed the moral values placed by God in our society. It proves that evolution is as farce and gives plenty of evidence of the existence of our Creator.

Great, you find a verse that says the earth hangs on nothing and I find two that say different.

1 Samuel 2:8
The pillars of the earth are the LORD's, and he hath set the world upon them.

Job 9:6
Which shaketh the earth out of her place, and the pillars thereof tremble.

Just because a book is right in places does not prove all of it true. This only convinces the easily impressed.

First of all, most of those little proofs that you gave...didn't directly say it in the bible. It didnt directly say "The earth is a sphere" but it was INTERPRATED that way. How convienent?

This is LAUGHABLE at best.

Go read Isaiah 40:22 - you will note that it calls earth a FLAT CIRCLE. A flat circle is not a three dimensional sphere, as you incorrectly attempted to define it so it would fit your theory.

This is semantics, redefining words so that they fit into your neat little construciton. Doesnt make it factual, thats for CERTAIN.

What you fail to take into account is that most of those "scientific discoveries" were practiced by cultures long before any one decided to write them down and call it a bible, and that is documentable. And I can see more than 6000 stars from my deck. You have been taken by the same garbage everyone else has for 20 centuries.

More proof atheists are completely confused:

A strict agnostic says, you cannot pronounce, as knowledge, anything you cannot demonstrate. In other words if you're going to call it knowledge you have to be able to run an experiment on it that's repeatable. You can't run an experiment on whether God exists or not, therefore you can't say anything about it as knowledge. You can have a belief if you want to, or if that is what grabs you, if you were called in that direction, if you have a subjective experience of that kind, that would be your belief system. You just can't call it knowledge.

Ahem. A quick counterexample is enough to demolish you're proof, so look here:

1 Kings 7:23 which, in the King James Version states, "And [Solomon] made a molten sea, ten cubits from the one brim to the other: it was round all about, and his height was five cubits: and a line of thirty cubits did compass it round about".

So Pi = 3 according to the bible. However we know this is not true.
